It's not an emergency yet, however I'd really like some experienced people on the sideline in case it does get serious.

I just had this feeling it would happen...

Gave dryfood an hour ago, don't know about carb content and it didn't do anything.

Gave her HC canned 20 minutes ago.

When do I pull out the honey?

I've already talked to Deb, and I'm decreasing to 3.25U next shot.

Don't bring out the karo until you're under 40. No more HC either, save it for under 50. Check every 15-20 minutes, give more LC if she's not over 70.

the language makes it..difficult. just need to make sure I understand :D

Maybe I'll just eat an ice cream! She sits on my shoulder to get a taste!

She really does. Maybe I need to go back to be an night owl instead of getting up so early.

I hate this. I want a sensor and an insulin pump! Someone needs to make cat pumps o_O:smuggrin:

Stop feeding, check in an hour. If he's still above 70 wait another hour and check again ... only then are you good. Sorry lol, I'd set an alarm and get some winks.

Afraid so! You need to make sure he doesn't dip back down after food is worn off.

Here's something I stickied to reference, I think I got it from Deb ... the 68 would be 50 on a human meter of course.

When a cat drops below our "take action" number of 68 (on the AlphaTrak) you feed high carb food and test every 20-30 minutes for at least 2 hours

Repeat as necessary....but every time you have to feed something high or medium carb, that 2 hour clock starts over.

When she's been able to stay safe without MC or HC food for 2 hours since the last time you had to feed, it's usually going to be OK

Darn she's awesome that Deb! :bighug:

So if she's yellow in an hour, do I still need to test? Or the higher blues?

I'm not even tired anymore. I'm stunned I had the stomach to sleep from a 61. :banghead:
With the lights on, an Adderall to keep me from falling asleep to hard, and several alarms of course.

Isn't she!

Best to check no matter the number in case the food wears off at the second hour and she dips lower. I would imagine she'll be alright if she's considerably higher in an hour but you know ... I still have to recommend the safest option for safety reason. ;)

Haha sleep deprivation gets to us all at some point ... I still feel bad going to bed with an 83 after several hours of testing throughout the night ... I just couldn't stay awake much longer. She was okay though of course haha.

She really is!

I'll check. Even though she's snoring and sleeping like a baby.

I know! When I get up during the night I don't trust my own judgment. I just want to sleeeep.

I'm kinda looking forward to the following bounce. Hopefully tomorrow night I can sleep like a baby the whole!!!!! night!

My sister said "now you're ready to have kids!" Cause I'm up several times at night. I could sleep from a third world war... usually.
