I guess Mav decided to show some respectable numbers to the vet today . I doubt he'll hang around the beach for too much longer after +5, but you never know. Looks like the increase is working.

Vetty visit countdown has begun. It will likely take me 10 minutes just to get Mav in his crate. Luckily the civvie, Jester, goes into his just fine, so there won't be any extra time there :cat: I am taking them both in together. Jester has been having some bad breath, I suspect he may need a dental too, but we'll see.

Positive vibes for kitties. My other cat Popeye had really bad breath and vet said it was some kind of sores in his mouth that caused it. Gave a round of antibiotics and he was fine. Have a great day!

Good luck with the vet! Positive thoughts for both kitties! If your kitties behave like most do, in the car and at the vet, maybe a big glass of wine is in order when you return home!!!
Have a great day Christie! And GL!!!

Furry paws crossed, hope all goes well. You're brave taking 2 kitties to the vet!! :bighug:
Thanks Sonia...yes, that's one word for it :p

LOL, maybe more than just one! The car ride there was worse, it was much better on the way home!

Mavvy's visit went well, the vet was happy with the whole cat report (WCR). He really does look good, she noted he has excellent muscle mass, weight has been maintained. Teeth aren't bad, some tartar on back lower molars, but no gingivitis. Of course I'm pleased he is generally heathy, but told my vet that I felt we could do better in terms of BG regulation. I asked again for her to give me a prescription for Lev. She agreed, and I'll pick up the prescription from her next week, I think she just needed to work out the particulars, she's never prescribed it before. I had to giggle, when she said she wasn't sure what to suggest for a starting dose. I told her, it's okay, from my research the starting dose should be 70% of the current working Lantus dose :D.

Jester has one top canine tooth where the gumline looks super red and inflamed. It may need to get pulled :(, we'll see once she gets him in for the dental and has a look at his mouth under anesthetic and can take some X-rays. I guess she will need to assess then how bad it is.

Great report for Mav. I hope Jester doesn’t need the tooth pulled but if he does itsreally not too hard on them. I like vets that are open to new things.
Hi Elise :), thank you...I'm just a bit fussed that it's a canine, and going down unfamiliar territory with these dental issues. Hopefully the root is fine and it can be saved, but it sure looked bad. I really do like my vet, she knows how I am, and really does try and work with me.

A double vet visit--it sure must feel good to have that over with. Felix doesn't have any canines and he seemed to adjust to that well.

;) :joyful:
Great that everything is OK for Mav and Jester! You're very good taking the two together... you really deserve wine as Briere said!:)
Don't worry too much about the dental; Ti-Mousse had 6 extractions and the next day he was eating....!
