They really love turkey broth with their meals.
I gave that as a snack with some fresh turkey and it didnt seem to effect the numbers any.
 
Is the broth low in sodium? Hadn't thought of adding broth to Poopy's food. He loves the extra water (makes a gravy, sorta, kinda he adores!).

I think Sev makes his own broth. Be careful about store bought--I had some chicken broth left over from Thanksgiving and the boys loved it, but then I looked at the ingredients. It had garlic in it, which isn't good for cats.
 
That's correct. I am making my own broth from a turkey carcass. When we cook the turkey I made sure I o not add onion or garlic.
I cook the turkey in a bag with carrots and celery.
Once we are done with slicing the meat for ourselves.
I then strip almost all the meat off the carcass.
Throw what is left including the skin into a pot.
I do add a little kosher salt as well. You never know I may be using for soup or turkey stew. :smile:
I cook it down to about half its volume. Makes it nice and concentrated. It solidifies into a solid mass when put into the fridge.

I take out a few scoops and put it in a separate bowl from the food and warm it. Set it and watch two kitties put their heads together and watch their little tongues go wild. :-D
 
Awww man! And here I've been making Turkey and Dumplings with that water all along! What a waste of good kitty water! :o

Honey would skin me alive, he's that partial to dumplings. :shock:

I don't think he'd miss a few scoops of the water, though, pre me adding all the goodies. :twisted:

Well a 14lb turkey gives me almost 2 quarts of broth after reducing. I'm thinking Honey would start looking like a dumpling if you used all that broth to make dumplings with. :shock: :shock: :lol:
 
Well, he has been compared to the Pillsbury guy a time or two. ;-) (Hey. What can I say? He likes my cooking!)

I do freeze half the broth/goodies to make dumplings another day so really he is only eating half at a time, counting enough for a meal leftover each time...and he does let me have a small portion. :-D

No not really.
If we didnt have that hiccup on the 11th it would be day 11 without a AM shot.
This will be day 15 without a PM shot if all goes well.
