I almost skipped her "+3" test, but curiosity got the best of me  !

It's a relative term of course, but Trix's appy has been fairly happy this morning! Still, I've given her one syringe of fuds, and will give her another before I leave for work, just to be sure her belly continues to remember that it feels good to have food in it!

I'm not sure if I'll be able to come home midday to feed her a little or not. We've got two classes running back-to-back today, and I don't know if there will be enough of a time window for me to scoot out. I'm sure Trix will be fine....I'll go through withdrawal.

@Tricia - My kitties' appies also drop off in the warmer months, too. With Trix right now, it's hard to tell if that is part of what is going on or not, since her appy is not the same "style" as it used to be. But given the circumstances and her behavior, I have feeling it's not a summer-time appy issue, but part of the pancreatitis flare and it's psychological affects.

I do think her appy has both physical and psychological components to it. No doubt, between the p-titis and the CKD, she's not always feeling super duper, but I really think she's also caught in the cycle of "I don't feel well so I don't want to eat, but now since I haven't eaten I don't feel well", and she is tentative and almost jumpy when she eats - she is easily distracted by noises, and she was never like that before. So I think we've got a variety of factors happening all at once.

She is also eating better on her own since I started the syringing, which is what makes me think that she needed the reminder that a full belly makes her feel well.

Right now, I've got my bonus round of snuggles going, but unfortunately I have to get moving  ...I have to be at work a few minutes early, which to me sounds like an eternity since I'd rather be home with my kitties!

Plus it's gray and rainy (and so much more beautiful than the white fluffy s***!)....snuggling with the kitties is way more appealing than working. But, what can ya do.

Have a great day, LL!

Amy

Have a good day at work, Amy.

Sending continued good appy vines to Trixie.

Thanks, Dyana!

And, also in response to last night's condo...you guys are right: age isn't the issue...lack of sleep/general exhaustion is. Between Frankie's nighttime antics and Trix's pancreatitis, I really can't remember the last time I've slept through a decent block of time. But what can ya do? They do come first!

Re: 6/9 Trixie AMBG 139 "+3" 56

I'm so glad that she's starting to eat more on her own. Sending feel better vines for Trixie. These kitties sure are high maintenance, but I wouldn't know what to do if Shasta wasn't just a little high maintenance. I guess that would make me the high maintenance one of the family.  Hope you have a good Monday, Amy! Scritches to Trixie!

Great to hear she is starting to eat more on her own. I am sure her appy issues are both physical and psychological. It is a hard one to get over. Hope you are able to get some rest tonight. Gray and rainy just makes me sleepier. Have a great day Amy!

I'm glad Trixie is still eating some for you and letting you syringe feed her. I hope her appy gets better soon.

HI Amy,
Sending continuing appy vines to Trixie.
I hope Frankie will be calm tonight and you can have a good night sleep.

Love that +3 today. :-D   Sending vines for Trixie to take more initiative in eating.

Kitty snuggling is the best thing to do in rainy weather!

With that PMBG, Trix earned herself a break from the follow up pokey this evening!

Between what she has eaten on her own (with MamaBean holding the plate, or course), and the one syringe she has had so far, she had eaten almost a full meal by 6:30 tonight! Of course, though, I am an Italian MamaBean, so I will continue to stuff fuds in her until I go to sleep tonight  ! Kitten steps...

So what would you do with yourself if Trixie suddenly started eating completely on her own and glowed with health and didn't need a helicopter over her??? I think you'd be lost! You are a nurturer, and you do it very well.

Sending calming vines for Frankie and appy vines for Trixie. I hope you get a decent night's sleep!
