Hi Everyone,

We drove home yesterday and the trip went very well. Fortunately the jackknifed tractor trailer was on the inbound side of the Tappan Zee Bridge. It was totally closed for hours. The traffic trying to get to NYC by any other means available was horrific. We, however, going in the other direction, just sailed along.

Rusty was a good traveler, as always, despite the fact that he was more tired than usual. It was a tough week for him, too! I didn't have any pain driving, only a bit of discomfort. We are very glad to be home in our cool, clear Adirondack weather. As we wait for the pathologist report I am resuming my normal activities. I am instructed to remove the bandages on Monday. If all is going well, we may go on the paddle we were supposed to lead on Monday. Today was mainly a rest day, but we did walk to the farmers' market for some wonderful fresh veggies and mushrooms. I feel good. Thanks again for all your vines and support.

Rusty's numbers are all over the place. I have restored his 0.25U dose (0.20mm on the digital calipers, Monoject syringe, after skinnying the dose for the trip). He dropped to 36 today. But I think he will even out. The other day when I gave him just a drop (basically an empty syringe), he climbed all day. Next week he will have his annual wellness check up and blood work at the vet. He isn't as strong as he has been, but today seemed stronger. He needs his B-12 shot.

I have been thinking of you all and am very sorry to have missed days. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Welcome home, all! Hope the exciting part is over and that the pathology report in downright uninteresting.

Yo Chief Felix, way to go, man! Let's work on some new recipes for the next party.

Chef Rusty, I'm going to work on purrfecting crunchy falafel, and maybe we could make some Mewli-Tabouli (with catnip instead of parsley) and some HumMouse. And stuff like that.

Yo Chief Felix: those dishes sound GREAT. We'll put them on the menu for the next full moon party (June 27th, the Full Strawberry Moon).
