Yesterday: Boomer's Day of Drama
Good morning!
AMPs 196 shooting 1.25u

Boomer left a lot of his overnight fuds; a wee bit of +3, about 1/4 of +6 and he hardly touched his +9. But he didn't wake us so maybe he just wasn't hungry last night after all the extra food he got yesterday.

Allen ate well last night.

On Boomer's menu today: AMPS ff turkey & giblets, +3 chicken pate, +6 ff, +9 chicken pate

Hoping to get some b/w results for Boomer later today; the culture will take a bit of time so I probably won't know anything until next week. Boomer did have a pee last night but it wasn't nearly as big as his normal pees. But he doesn't seem to be uncomfortable although I did see him doing that running/kicking motion once last night and once this morning; something back there does seem to be bugging him.

This morning I get to visit a foster mom and photograph a kitty for a rescue/adoption agency. Apparently the kitty, whose name is Daisy, is very shy and the last photographer failed. So we'll see. Luckily they live only a few minutes away from me so if it fails this time it's easy to go back again.

I have another photo for you today. When we went for our short road trip on Wednesday I was happy to see a few butterflies. This is a Spicebush Swallowtail.

Not too bad for a bounce for Boomer's AMPS today! The butterfly is perfect! Good luck with the kitty session! I bet that kitty will sense that you are a cat person and you will get great photos!

Beautiful picture. I hope you get good b/w results back for Boomer. I hope he continues to get better. Sending prayers.

I hope you can get some good pictures of the kitty.

Luckily the kitty is with a Foster Mom otherwise it could end up in your purse! Ok Boomer, now we know the juice works so go nice and easy back to the lagoon little man. Fingers crossed for good BW results Judy.

Beautiful picture Judy. I miss my photography. Last time out was a bust - the botanical gardens were destroyed two years in a row due to flooding and they have completely torn it up trying to build the creek bank up to prevent it again. I did get some pictures of the spring blooming flowers but nothing I was too enthused about. Between work, Gizmo and DH I just don't have the time I used to. I used to volunteer with a therapeutic equine group that I really miss too.

I want to see a picture of the foster kitty if you get one. :):cat:

How is Boomer feeling? I hope the tests all come back good and you are on the correct path with the AB.

Ummm I don't know....how do they do that?
Honestly I don't know the specifics...in the exam room, they've always just glanced at my guys' tushes, but when it came to the "real" checking, they take them into the treatment area in the back. But the scooting can be part of the urinary thing, but it can also be an anal gland issue as well.

Pretty Butterfly! The cleaning of the anal glands is pretty nasty, I'm sure they'd have mentioned if they did it but scooting is a definite sign that they are probably in need of expressing.

b/w results are in and there's nothing unusual; nothing to explain the litter box issues. So far there is no growth in the culture. Dr Larry still isn't ruling out a lower urinary tract infection.
Boomer has only had one pee and although much bigger than yesterday's dime size pees, it was no where near as big as normal.
And no poop last night or today.
But he is eating fine and acting normally (well normal for Boomer anyways).
I will update the ss with the blood work.

Keeping fingers and paw crossed for a good report.

My Sug, GA had anal gland problems and had several abscesses requiring irrigating and AB's She also would "slime " on my arm if I picked her up wrong when the gland were full. Yuck!!!
