Re: 6/9 Atlas 347
It has been a busy day today since I posted this morning...the world kinda went sideways...
Attie decided to perform a kibble raid as the bowl was empty when I got home and his BG was 441!
He has had lots of medical issues the past few months. Tuesday when I visited this geriatric toy poodle it appeared he had, had a severe stroke. A younger dog with better health would have warranted a ER vet trip, but ...Scamp on 4 medications for heart, lungs, seizures and asthma...and old age... We phone consulted with the vet and owner and all agreed as long as he did not appear to be in physical pain...to let nature take its course. He might improve some...dogs handle strokes pretty well. He might not...and he would just decline.
This morning my phone rang at 7:30am with this very unusual request for a pet sitter...from a near hysterical owner. Scamp had declined to a coma like state. So...arrangements were made, other schedules cleared...and for the first time...a back-up called in.
Today was Scamps day to know how much he is truly loved. No one can truly stand-in for an owner, but we can assure the pet is comfortable, safe, and secure. This afternoon he rousted from that deep slumber and we ventured outside for what is likely his last walk around his garden....
The day in the life of a pet sitter...
