Nothing new to report here. Trix's appy is OK...not great, not horrible...I'd sure love it to be normal again, and am still grappling with the fact that this may be her new normal. We'll roll with it, and I will continue to supplement her with the syringe feedings as needed so at least I know she'll be getting a decent amount of calories. She definitely has some mixed emotions about the syringe; for the most part, she seems OK with it, but just like fluids, there are times when she's feeling a bit feisty with the idea!

She WAS really hungry when we got home from my Mom's birthday dinner. It had been about 3 hours since her last feeding, so maybe that helped boost her appy. Unfortunately, I don't always have that much time to spare between feedings, and even last night, that pushed everything so late. Or, it may have just been an "up" in all the ups and downs we have these days, especially since she did have cerenia earlier in the evenings.

It's a work day for me...need some ~O) ~O) ~O) to wake up, and hopefully a quick workout. Have a great day, LL!

Amy

ETA...she did just surprise me with a pretty decent "follow up" round of breakfast. It was a slow start...she walked away after a few licks and went to pee while I posted her condo. After posting, I offered her a plate, and much to my delight she made a decent dent in it! I did give her a syringe in addition to what she ate on her own before I BTBed this morning (about 2.5 hours ago), and I will still probably give her a syringe before I leave for work, just to keep the calorie train in motion. Maybe....maybe this is helping spark her memory that a full belly is a happy belly?????

Hi Amy! I'm sorry that you've had to be syringing, but I'm glad that (for the most part) Trixie is ok with it  . I'm glad to read your update and I hope that it reminds her that eating till she has a full belly on her own is where it's at ;-) You're having such a rollercoaster of emotions lately, and I hope that my thoughts and prayers have reached you even when I didn't post and just checked in to read up on condos. Many anti-stress and comfort vines to you. And whatever vines Trix needs, are being sent. Hugs to you :YMHUG: :YMHUG: . I hope your workout and workday go well!

I'm glad Trixie ate more when you offered her the plate again. Hopefully you won't have to syringe feed her too long. Sending prayers and hugs to you and Trixie. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O)

What a nice start for trixie, I expect the lagoon is next. I think you're doing great with the fuds. I know how stressful it all is, but wise you are to go with the flow. She seems ok with it too. Nice on the second breakfast - so great she ate on her own. YaHOO! Remember Trixie, full bellies are good!

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well at TBP.

Re: 6/8 Trixie AMBG 133

Hi Amy,
I am glad Trixie ate a little on her own today. :-D
Sending more appy vines to Trixie.

We're just plugging away here. I had to give Trix her Mr Greenie since I didn't do a follow up test this morning!

Appy is middle of the road this evening -she's eaten an OK amount on her own, and I've done one syringe so far. Interesting thing, though: After the syringe, a little fuds plopped out of her mouth (not unusual)...and she licked it up! Then, I held the empty syringe up to her mouth, and she licked that, too. So, I guess she really is somewhat OK with it!

I'm getting old...I'm still wiped from being out late last night for my Mom's birthday dinner. I've peeked in on many folks today, but haven't had a chance to reply. I'll do some REAL catching up/posting in the next day or so...but, as always, my entire LL family - old and new - is always in my prayers!

Hi Amy,
Trixie seems to be eating OK and that is great. Cat's habits can change, just like people's do. Rusty's food consumption has slowed down, too.
I think "getting old" is not your problem. Try lack of proper sleep!

Hope you are having a good evening.

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

I am glad that Trixie ate some on her own and that she is not fighting the syringe feeding so you can support her too. Sending prayers for her to feel comfortable about eating and increase her appetite. I think worrying about Trixie and dealing with these changes are hard on the caregiver. you want so much for her. When I couldn't get Lovey regulated last summer and she wasn't feeling well I lost 15 pounds.

I don't know about your cats, Amy, but mine eat less when the weather warms up. It's always been that way, so I've learned not to get too worried when the plates don't get cleaned this time of year. Perhaps that's one of Trixie's problems right now? I'm glad she's accepting the syringe feeding. It sounds like she knows you're trying to help her. That's a very good thing.

I also agree that your problem isn't age - it's exhaustion. You need some rest!

Sending appy vines for Trixie and resting vines for you.
