Good Morning LL! :coffee: :coffee: Thank you Elsa! She wasn't too low at +5 last night so i got some sleep, now seeing that 80 at +10 I wonder how low she went. But, Whooooo Hoooooooooooooooo! A morning without R. (anti-jinx!)

WCR All 5 Ps, Clean Plate Club, Vines to all the kittehs in need of them and hugs to all their beans.

Well, at least she's doing this in the daytime (at least we think she's not doing it at night....)!

Tess, you really shouldn't do this to your beans' blood pressure. Haven't I already explained that you need them to open the cat food cans and clean the litter box???

@Shiloh & Rhonda Hi Rhonda, no problem. R insulin, is a fast acting , in-and-out insulin. Tess had a DKA episode in early March and has needed this extra boost to control her extreme bounces. It seems like the Levemir has a much shorter duration now than it did. She used to nadir at +10 to +12 , now it's about +6. I don't know if it is because of the DKA, the fact that we started a new box of pens at the same time or giving her squids or the R or maybe just because she's a cat and she can!

R-insulin is a very strong drug and only recommended in extreme cases. Because of that DKA we don't dare let her stay in high numbers to wait out the bounce.

Thanks for the education, Ann. And does Tess have HUGE paws or is it just the picture? My Shiloh has pretty good sized feet, and I have just figured out her front feet may be double jointed.

ETA: I think it's because she is a cat and she can!

It's the picture. :p:p She was sprawled across John's tummy and we got a little forced perspective going there. Tess is actually tiny, we just got her weight back up to 5.6 pounds from a low of 5.

Oh wow! Shiloh is between 12.5 and 13. At her highest she was 18. This was her about six years ago with our then puppy, Punky.

I adopted her 11 years ago, after I had to have my Jersey PTS because of liver failure. I don't have children, but always told myself if I did, I would name it Shiloh, boy or girl, after one of my favorite songs. And I love torties too. And that was her name when I found her. I had to have her!

This is Jersey. I adopted her when she was 9, and had been at the shelter for over a year!
