hello.
Shadow continues her dissatisfaction with my offerings....
I hate to give her these gravy foods... but it's all she's willing to pick at.... S-I-G-H

just gave her an ondansetron at +3.5 .... and will give her some cypro in a bit.

found the thawed out primal turkey bites in a bag on the table where my dh had emptied the ice chest
from saturday's abq trip.... and didn't put it in the freezer.....
it's the whole reason we took the ice chest.....:banghead:
oh well....
she probably wasn't going to eat it either....

I feel that clock ticking... hers ... that is.... she's not going to feel better ....
I guess I can switch to appy stimulants full time.... and offer her only the things she should eat....
because at least her weight has been stable.
that's something I haven't done .... mainly because she's never been willing to eat the same things over and over
so I hate forcing her...
and that's assuming she caves....

my acme hat seems to be wearing out....

healing vines for all!!
on the house......

at least I'm making progress in the guest bedrooms.... I might get that done today.... or maybe need another few hours.... but that's something around here......

I had to resort to twice daily cyproheptadine for Tiffany after she stopped chemo. How much ondansetron is she getting? Have you tried cerenia? Sometimes they need s change or even both. Sometimes they need ondansetron every eight hours. I think it's time to experiment a bit. Even she eats the gravy so be it its calories. You can always up the insulin if necessary. I'm sorry she isn't feeling well.:bighug:

Hi Rhiannon,
I hope that Shadow will decide to eat the food that is good for her. But the gravy foods don't seem to affect her bgs. Maybe just keep her happy and in gravy? Too bad about the spoilage of the Primal turkey bits. I still have my unopened bag in the freezer. I'm apprehensive about trying Rusty on it. He is so sensitive to food.

Hang in there!

I know how frustrating this is. I agree with Ella, though. If you're giving her gravy foods and her BGs are still this good, give her all she'll eat! A little more insulin is a small price to pay for keeping he eating.

I also agree with Elise about experimenting with the meds. It takes something different for every cat, I think. I'm still not sure what the right combo is for Minka, so I keep trying.

SEB does seem to help when she's really not feeling like eating.

Bummer about the thawed out food. Sounds like something that would happen around here.

Sending buckets of appy vines.

:bighug::bighug::bighug: I know how scary it is when they won't eat. I'm not sure what is was that turned Tess around, but i think it's the squids and getting her back on raw. Tricia turned me on to Orijen Wild Boar freeze dried treats. Tess will eat anything w/ that sprinkled on top.

okay... I bought the wild boar treats.... should be here in a couple of days....

I am giving the gravy foods.... reluctantly.... but the issues is more that her poo is turning to liquid again.
guess I could go have all the hair on her ass shaved off at the vets....:facepalm:

I could add the SEB back....
she gets 1/4 ondanstron 2x a day...and 2x a night if I'm up. She doesn't really seem to be nauseous.
I have experimented and given her just the cypro... and it's the same... it makes her eat and she's fussy at me. ( i don't like the mirtz because she's so fussy, even after she just ate a plateful... it bothers her... it is just too much)

So sorry Shadow will not eat anything but the foods that give her runny poo. Must be so hard. Sending vines for Shadow and HUGS TO YOU.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Shadow ate her preshot food... whew.....
it has been a struggle today... hope those boar treats work...should be here in 2 days.. with prime.

I did get one bedroom done... all it needs is clean sheets and vacuuming.... I have 11 days....
the other room needs probably 3-4 more hours.... that's pretty good for me.....

Sure glad to hear Shadow ate her foods tonight, praying the boar treats work to entice her. Has she felt worse with the runny poop? wondering if Metronidiazole might make a difference? Prayers, vines by the truckload being sent express!!

@Tiger and Ruth , she was on metronidazole...
the internist wanted her on the gengraf ( modified cycloporin) and a tapering down of prednisolone ( altho' we are keeping every other day for now)
I think I remember that they didn't want too many drugs.... so we gave up budesonide and the metro...

I forgot about the gengraf, sorry. And now I remember you said they wanted her off the other stuff. Probiotics? And this is grasping, but does she get pumpkin at all?

probiotics yes....
pumpkin... no... she won't eat it..... just occasionally with one of the foods that had it already.

i found her freeze dried turkey to be nice for drying things up.... I'll crumble a bunch in a bowl and see if she'll eat some of that.
She quit for a while but it's been a few weeks now so maybe she'll go for it....

Am sorry you are having such a time trying to find something Shadow will eat.
Would she eat an egg in any form....soft boiled, fried, scrambled?
