Ripley is doing GREAT today!
As a matter of fact, she's doing SO great that she woke me up before my alarm to let me know that she was ready for her breffis. :roll: Someone forgot to tell her that it's Saturday :lol: .

As I mentioned yesterday, Ripley's urinalysis results showed no more bacteria; unfortunately, as Sienne pointed out (thank goodness for Sienne!!), a test done on a cat while the cat's still taking ABs will likely show a false negative for bacteria. Tomorrow is Ripley's last dose of Clavamox... hmmmm... I have questions for my vet...

Today will be a 'cool' 111
But, I get to spend the day with 3 of my favorite people in the whole wide world: my sister and her 2 girls! They live out of state, and I haven't seen my nieces since last summer (during our honeymoon road trip across the country and back). They're coming out, but just for a very quick visit. I can't wait to see them!! :RAHCAT

Morning Josie, great news on the urinalysis, but I can see why you have questions for the Vet with the false positive. Will be interesting to hear his response. How nice with your visit today. Have a great time.
Yikes on the heat. I know our time is coming here with the heat, like tomorrow, but not quite as hot as yours. Keep cool. Ripley, enjoy that rocker today :lol: .

Hi Josie. Awesome AMPS for Ripley this morning. Looks like she is going to spend the day cooling off at the Lagoon and out of the heat of the day. 111 degrees....Wow!

I just talked with my vet: he said that he's seen many cases where a cat still taking antibiotics can still show bacteria in a urinalysis. We had a good conversation (I was a little worried about it having a negative tone, but it didn't); he said he really appreciates me as a client, that he's glad I always ask lots of questions and that I voice my concerns and prompt discussions with him. (I hope he was sincere and not 'just saying that.') So Ripley will be back in 2-3 weeks for a follow-up urinalysis... (And he credited my account, so I'll only have to pay partially for the test.)

I hope Ripley is really over the UTI. That's nice your vet was understanding and willing to discuss it. I hope you have a good visit with your sister and nieces.
