Well we had another exciting very low green night, but again we missed the reduction....oh well Leo really seems to like this dose. I overcarbed him for sure at +6, he was pretty hungry so i fed him 1.5 oz of 3%, he was still hungry so i gave him a little less than half a can of FF 10% (already had it in the fridge) thus this mornings high number :roll: I'm a bonehead.

He was snoozing this morning when the alarm went off, and he pulled away just as i pushed the plunger in and there was still half his insulin in the syringe so i just re-shot him. I didn't smell insulin on his fur so i'm hoping all of it went it. He's just washing up right now so all is good!

Yay BTB again and i don't have to worry too much him going low, so more zzzzz's for me! Of course i was up watching Rescue Me again till 2. Such a good show!

Hi guys .. it's nice to hear that leo is liking this dose .. it's good if they can stay at a dose for awhile .. I hope you enjoy your btb!

Hi Tracy!!! Looks like Leo is really trying to earn that reduction! I know that I realized Champ is very carb sensitive and it looks like Leo might be the same. You might want to give him only 3% carbs when he's in the mid 50's and save the higher stuff for when he dips into the 40's. If that makes you nervous, maybe you could give him less...instead of a tablespoon of food, just five him a teaspoon and see how that works. As long as you're checking his BG every 15 minutes when he's in the 50's (or lower), if he continues to drop on the lower carb or smaller amount of food, you have time to try something else. Just a thought. Good thing you have Rescue Me to keep you company with the late nights!!!

Yeah I've learned that Leo is sensitive to any food. He had to eat, he hadn't eaten since supper so I HAD to feed him.Plus he was on a hunger strike in the morning and afternoon because of the FF chicken so all he ate all day was a half a can of FF chicken, and his supper which was also a half a can of FF. So no matter what I would have fed him it would have brought his numbers up. I think I did damn fine considering I didn't shovel HC down his throat.
