Good Afternoon World! Yesterday

One year ago today I shot KT for the first time. I shook, I held my breath and started turning blue then gulped air, I cried, I was light headed...I then drew insulin into that NEEDLE thingy. I did all those things again and tented the skin....and stuck that NEEDLE in my kitty....and pushed the plunger...gritting my teeth until my jaws were hurting....

....and he purred.......

Oh the RELIEF when it was over! I'll never forget how much worse the imagined horror was than the actual thing!

I've now shot him 728 times....and he still purrs....and comes for testing!

What a great description of a first shot, Lyresa! I hope that Roni will show it to her DH, who is learning how to give shots.

Hi guys .. boy .. I think we all remember our first shots .. I wish ours had gone as smoothly as yours did! Mocha never once made shot time easy for us .. lots of hissing, running, biting and clawing at this house .. Anyways, it's kinda nice to look back and see how far you've come, isn't it? :-D
 
Happy Anniversary! And yes, what an accurate description. Before Trix's first shot, I read so much...I knew what I was doing. Till it was time to do it nailbite_smile :lol: ! They know we're helping them, though, and the make it so easy for us.

(((Lyresa))) It's always a bittersweet day when our babies go from being newly diagnosed to long term diabetics but the positive and wonderful side of it is how much healthier KT is then he was right
before you gave that first shot. And plus...we've all gotten to have you and KT and DH and all your sweet babies in our lives for the last year :-D :-D

Thanks everyone!!! I'm so blessed to have landed here when I got this computer up in July. I shot blind with Humulin N for over a month...

I had to count - I've tested over 1500 times...

Happy Annifursary KT and Lyresa! Your start was like mine, only mine was shooting Caninsulin blind. And those needles are SO much bigger. I don't get a purr, but I don't think she notices it either. Good that KT purrs, I think he knows you are helping him.
