Kasha ate her Baytril in a pill pocket rolled in chicken dust. That can't work much longer. She even ate over 2 Tbsp FF - I'm a little shocked, cuz Blue was home and I thought she'd be freaked out. But she hasn't checked him out really yet.
When I went to pick Blue up with my friend Amy, I asked how he'd been getting around, using the litter box, etc.. They said he wasn't, he was unhappy being there and and wasn't moving around on his own and every time they took him out, he pretty much struggled, yelled and peed all over. Hmmm... not auspicious. I was a little disheartened hearing that he wasn't moving on his own... He did eat for them though.
They brought him out wrapped in a towel with an Elizabethan collar on him. He was growling and very awake. They asked if I wanted to touch him or something, I guess because he was angry and might bite. I touched his face and he calmed down. So, I just kept petting his head. He seemed to like it. Then I asked to see the incision. Wow. It wasn't quite as bad as it could have been, but it's crazy looking. Like a child's stuffed animal that lost its leg and got sewn up badly. Kind of like a beanbag all sewn up.
He was quiet on the way home and somehow turn completely around in the carrier, once or twice.
We got home and put him in his cage. He was moving kind of poorly, but then he ate about 1/2 can of FF. Hmmm... Then he kind of hop-dragged himself to the litter box and lay down in it. Hmmm... Then he moved out. Then he moved back. The more he moved, the better he moved. Amy was amazed that he was moving around so much. Then he went to the litter and kind of sat/squatted. He got this look on his face and I said, "I think he's peeing!" And voila - he peed in the litter box. All of this within about 45 min of being home. Of course, a little while later he lay down in the the used litter again... But baby steps.
He does not like being confined in the cage. He's supposed to be in there for 3 WEEKS! Hmmm... We'll see. I suspect he'll be in there when I can't supervise him. He finished the can of FF and is dozing right now. He hopped around pretty good last time he moved. We might need to rearrange the recovery room. He's half on, half off the little bed. The halo collar thing is off him now, I'll probably put it back on when I can't watch him.
Tired... Long day.
