6/8 Hoots dental results and need dosing info

6/6 - Had Dental, Bg was 356 @ vet, He hates it!!!
6/7 - 363 AMBG, He had found the plastic bag of dry kibble the vet gave me and ate it all. I found the empty bag on the floor when I got up grr_red Why did I even bring them home??????
6/7 - 258 PMBG, much better than the AMBG :smile: Damn kibble cat(2)_steam
6/8 - 253 AMBG

Well Hoots blood work and dental were both ok :-D so it must be the Diabetes spiking his BG. I have yet to get his Ketones, not for lack of trying :YMSIGH: LOL! I am sitting in the kitchen with the cat box next to me. He sure doesn't have to pee much. I had it there yesterday too and I soon as I walked away he peed :-x So I am going to go get his Lantus in a bit and start him back on it tonight. I just need to know what to start him on. His SS is up to date, and his BG has been running in the mid 200's.
 
I think starting him a 0.25u while conservative, makes sense -- at least t me! I can sometimes take a few days for dental issues to resolve. Did Hoot's have any extractions and if so, is he on any pain meds or antibiotics?
 
I would think you would want to start with about 0.50, but let's see what the others have to say.

Good luck getting those BGs back down to green.

No, his teeth were all good, so no meds at all
 
That's good he had no extractions and not antibiotics. I was actually thinking 0.25 at first, and then changed my mind and thought 0.50.
