Henry started at his regular red and I thought he was in another bouncing cycle but strangely enough he had his nadir at AM+8.25. Since it was a weird cycle I checked twice with AT and once AT was even lower that libre and at PMPS AT was 199 vs 178 (libre) so pretty close.

There was a small dip right before pmps from 223 at +11 so I was a bit worried. I fed 1tsp of 13% and one small can of 5.5% and. that did not help he is still dipping down BG=153 20 min after the shot with arrow trending down. T

The libre has the arrow down showing it is slowly decreasing. it really should be increasing. i he is hit by the prior dose and I just hit him with a new dose, how in trouble are we?

this is very weird. I did shoot the entire 4.5 units but I am very worried to be honest.

Any thoughts?

Get a +1 and a +2 to start. He's breaking a bounce so probably a later nadir. It's possible so see them nadir early in the next cycle. How well and what did he eat at PMPS?

He had a tsp of 13% carbs and 3 oz weruva 5.5%. The 13% did not help seems like. the 5.5% is low in calories so you feed 2 of those but i usually split that between +2 and +4. Should I feed some MC like FF grilled variety?

Libre does not work not sure if it failed or it's temporary (it says check back in 10 min so will see). AT =228 at PM +1 (was 199 at pmps when libre was 178). After 13% tsp, multiple treats and 3 oz of LC at 5.5% still worried for when tonight's dose will hit in an hour or so. So basically his nadir of 138 was at PM+05.

@+1.15 Libre lives=166 arrow down. Fed 1 tbsp 13% weruva. worried his old dose still works and soon will be hit by new dose. double trouble.

Well the Libres were meant for humans, so I wouldn't put much merit in the double arrows. That said, remember you are in control, you can get tests and intervene with carbs as and when required, so try not to be too stressed.

I understand but so far the carbs have not helped. And so far the arrows have been very accurate. I see here many kitties do great with 1 tsp 10% to pull the numbers up but gosh I overfed Henry with 13% being scared and still going down. And it is not even +2 yet. He is 17 pounds kitty so maybe the 2 tbsps of 13% I fed made zero dent given his weight. He usually starts going down hard at +2 until +5-7. So 3 more hours at least of this. I honestly am very inexperienced at this and not really know his reactions very well to carbs but so far it does not look great.

Try not to over feed, you may want him hungry later. Also, some cats take 30 minutes for the carbs to go from the plate to the blood stream. How long ago was the 13%?

It takes time to get a feel for things, you've barely been at this 1 month :). Some cats are more carb sensitive than others, and some cats can have early nadirs then it fizzles out. How is his appy tonight? Still eating nicely? I appreciate the Libre takes some getting used to, and you have more direct experience with that, and being that it takes interstial blood, interpreting readings may be slightly different, but if it helps, I always used to look at variances in tests and how quickly the numbers were dropping. Right now, you went from 138 @+0.5 to 166 at +1.25 and 132 @ +1.5. If he had dropped to under 100 by 1.5 maybe I'd be a bit more concerned but for the moment, steady as he goes.

I fed 13% - 1 tbsp at shot time and 1 tbsp at PM+1.15.
Also did another tbsp just now at +2. I know I should have not, I am just not handling stress very well tonight.
He is always hungry and would eat every 5 min if he could so not worried about him not eating.
AT =191 at +2 - was 228 at +1
Could not take a reading at +2 with the Libre. It has to be replaced in 3 days so maybe it is acting up.

He is eating nicely and has been vocalizing about food his entire life. Now included. Haha. God forbid I go into the kitchen (which is open concept and basically all roads are through the kitchen). But also very picky. The libre is a hit or miss and do have love hate relationship with it. Still with Henry being very annoyed with ear pokes, the Libre is very helpful (when it is not annoying that is).

I was about to reply. Spreadsheet is up to date.
@+3 - Libre =101; AT =134.
57 points drop with AT and 54 with Libre from +2 to +3. I noted the scanned numbers from Libre are a bit different than the downloaded numbers. Not the first time. Gave him a few treats with the ear poke but no food. I am waiting to see if there is a decrease at 3.5 and maybe feed some LC or MC depending.

@+3 - Libre =101; AT =134 only freeze dried treats with poke no food
@+4= Libre =92; AT =126 WE HAVE ANOTHER GREEN! Woohoo. Fed 1/2 tbsp of 8% weruva lamburgini kitty says yum. Still not out of the woods so will continue to monitor.

Yeah that is a huge difference. Gave me one huge heart attack. I fed a little of that 8% just to be safe. I am going to be up for 2 more hours just to be safe. He tends to drop around 6.5-7. This libre is about to expire in 3 days - this Saturday. I heard that in its last days the Libre can misbehave. Although I will download the numbers and compare to the reads. It is possible they are quite different.

Ok, the downloaded data said he had a hypo even with libre = 40 at +4.75. (15 min to +5). Not buying it.
Can you email the company and see what they say? When the meter clearly reads a 100 points higher?

I believe that for some readings, the Libre shows an icon (a blood drop?) next to the reading to indicate that a blood test with a meter is suggested?

Yes, that is exactly what happened. I have the blood drop icon for all of these strange numbers. Generally even with the drop blood sign, it has been accurate (not today) and it means glucose is changing too fast either low or high so I definitely test with AT to check on those numbers. Still that was a pretty huge variance. I will call the company and see what they say. I have heard of readers going bad although mine is just a few months old but who knows. Let's see what they say.

+ 6 - AT =200 and Libre=82. That is crazy. I do have new AT strips and a new AT meter (backup) but they are calibrated right. And the AT trends make more sense than the Libre.

Sorry Bhooma, yes I went to sleep last night. I have been pretty intrigued about the AT reading very high and the libre so low, so today I compared the AT and the libre with human meters and the AT is much higher (I used the same blood drop)
10 PM (PM+3): AT =471; FS Lite = 261 Libre = 327 (check glucose blood drop)
6.44 PM (PMPS) AT = 386 ; FS Lite = 295 ; Libre = 403
3.27 PM: (AM +8) AT=478; Nova =322 ; Libre =407
1.06 PM (AM +6) AT =468 ; Contour Next =350 ; Libre =390 (check glucose)

I have performed check tests on the libre other days and the FS lite and Contour next have been much lower so I generally used the AT and at higher numbers the AT and libre seemed more in range. all the meters have been tested with control solution and all strips are not expired. I wish last night when the Libre was showing a hypo I tested with a human meter vs the AT to make sure. He has bounced today to very high numbers since his drop last night. I really need the sleep so cannot complain. Thank you again for your help last night. It was very stressful.
