Hi Everyone,

Rusty and Edward had a good day in SUNSHINE!!! They enjoyed puttering around in the garden and just sitting in the sun on the back stoop. Rusty ate pretty well. His breathing is pretty good today (last night it was rough). I hope that the better weather will help him. It has been so cold and damp for the last 3 weeks.

The bike ride I led went really well. There were 9 of us. The roads were good (not gritty), the air was fragrant and fresh. We heard birdsong all along the route (oven birds, white-throated sparrows, chickadees, nuthatches, and others I couldn't identify). We saw 2 loons on one of the big lakes, where we took a rest stop, and--this is exciting--a black bear ran across the road right in front of the sweep!!! She and one other cyclist were the only ones lucky enough to see it (the rest of the group had already gone by). The road, although light in traffic, is one of the major thoroughfares in the Adirondack Park. You never know what you will see in the Adirondacks!

Tomorrow Edward and I are leading a paddle and we will be out for most of the day. Rusty will hold the fort and have lunch served in his "automat".

Everyone have a good evening,
