Good morning everyone,
Another really warm day in Calgary, we are expecting it to reach 30 degrees Celsius today, 32 tomorrow. No hiking plans today, just catch up on FDMB postings and hang out with a friend today. Planning 2 mountain hikes next weekend, plus a horseback ride , haven`t ridden in over 45 years, but did lots when I was a kid. Hope it`s like riding a bike, and it all comes back to me.
Have a great and wonderful day!

I am so jealous that you are able to make plans and get away for whole days. It's good that you are doing that.

sounds like a perfect weekend. I'm not fluent in Celsius, but guessing that's hot. We got to the mid 90's yesterday, which was very hot. supposed to be there again today. There's a little town 15 miles away that has a strawberry festival every year and we're headed over there in a bit. nom nom nom.

Thanks, Elise and Julie. Lulu`s doing well, touch wood, so I am making these plans, but if she goes off the rails, I stay home. My kitties come first. Julie, converting this to F puts us in the high 80`s, hot for Calgary. It`s very dry here, too, which makes it easier to bear. Being a Calgarian, I would probably not do very well in hot and humid conditions, although I lived in Manitoba til 1983, hot and humid summers there. Enjoy the strawberry festival, yummy!
I forgot to mention that I shot Lulu 1 hr late this morning, exhausted from the hiking, I guess. I added that to her SS.

Hey Lulu - the lagoon misses you today, come on down!

plus a horseback ride , haven`t ridden in over 45 years, but did lots when I was a kid. Hope it`s like riding a bike, and it all comes back to me.
Horse back riding in the Rockies would be lovely. I've gone riding in the southwest of Calgary, very pretty. Of course, the sore muscles come back too.:eek: Don't forget to wear a pair of nylons below your jeans to help with the leg friction.

We are supposed to max out a couple of degrees cooler than you, but thankfully with a cool ocean breeze.

I`s here, Auntie Wendy. Wants to see Neko here too -- when she comin? C'mon, Neko, we's missin you!

Wuv,
Lulu

Thanks for the hint about nylons, Wendy. I'll probably be walking bow-legged for a few days (that's assuming I'll be able to walk after the ride, lol). Love the ocean breezes on the west coast, very nice! You're so lucky to have both mountains and ocean out there.

Thanks, Carla. Now that I`m not working, I`d go crazy if I didn`t get out into nature -- a soothing balm for the soul. Came home today to find my babies laying around all stretched out, it`s warm for the poor little things in their fur coats.
Hope you and Furball had a lovely day.

Hi Lori,
The hikes and horseback rides sound great. I used to ride every week, but haven't been on a horse since 1958. I have a whole library of kids' horse books. I grew up a mile from the barn area of Belmont Park and on my way to school used to try to catch a glimpse through the fence of the horses doing their workout routines. I wanted to be an exercise girl, but in those years you had to be a boy!
The Triple Crown win at Belmont yesterday was exciting!

Yo Lulu, Nice to see you in the lagoon today.
~ Rusty

Hi Ella,
How cool that you grew up near Belmont Park, horses are such marvelous animals. Ah yes, back in those days when girls weren`t allowed to do fun jobs, thank heavens those days are gone, although when I look at some of the influences on young girls today, sometimes I`m glad I`m old(er), lol.
And yay for American Pharoah, he is some colt!!

Hey Rusty, tanks for dat message. :cat::cat::cat::cat::cat:
Wuv,
Lulu
