Yesterday's Almost Perfect Day

Thanks to Deanna, Chris, Molly, Elise, Bron and Ruth for visiting yesterday's condo last night/this morning.

Cinco seems to have accepted the outfit without an issue. F/t/s is so much easier, although you do have to unsnap the top to give the shot, but that's still easier than trying to reach his ears to test.

Another nice cycle, except for that +6. Don't know where that came from (okay, I'm complaining about a mid-blue. Spoiled!).

Minka's appy was not great today, although she doesn't act like she isn't feeling well. I gave her some Cypro a couple of hours ago, and she's been nibbling on baby food. Hoping she doesn't go into another flare up.

It's hot here today (90+) and I finally turned on the A/C because it's just miserable on our second floor. I think that's affected bother hers and Sasha's appies. Didn't bother Harvey or Cinco (of course, they spend their time downstairs). I think Cinco finds it a lot easier to eat without the cone, and that's helping his appy.

I was planning to plant those bulbs today, but it's too stinkin' hot. I'm hoping it cools off before dark, and I can slip out and plant them. I'm dumping some water from the tub on that area, to soften the ground.

Wow what a perfect day for Cinco- and he's so cooperative as well, what a good boy!! Continued appy vines for your girls, yes, this heat doesn't help matters any! Does catnip calm Harvey down at all? I was thinking about his tendency to attack when he hears crying from another cat, wonder where that came from? Healing prayers and vines for all! :bighug::bighug:
 
@Tiger and Ruth, I have no idea. He hasn't always been like that. It started when he was about four years old. Harvey and Minka were both underfoot and I stepped on Minka. She screamed and he went for her. He was totally out of control. For weeks we had to keep them separated - he had her so scared she would pee when he went after her. We took him to UCD to see an animal psychiatrist and they said there is basically a short in his wiring somewhere, and we can't really fix it, just try to avoid situations that trigger it. We had already started doing what they suggested to get him to tolerate her - had her in a room by herself with a screen door covered by a blanket, lift the blanket, etc. Took a couple of months before we could let her roam freely without fear. He would still randomly attack her, though, sometimes less violently, and not always just because someone screamed. After adding the collar and the diffuser, the incidents decreased, but a cat's scream will still set him off, and he'll go for whichever cat is nearby - it doesn't have to be Minka. What's funny is he'll chase her (non-violently) out of the kitchen, but he'll let her stick her face in his dish and eat from it when he's eating!

Cinco didn't go up too far at PMPS, so hopefully he's planning another night like last night.

Minka still wasn't eating at dinner. Gave her some SEB. Got her to eat a little baby food from my finger and the spoon, but I could tell she's having another attack, so I gave her some Bupe. It's weird how she's fine for two days and then here it comes again. I just want it to go away!
 
sounds like te outfit is a success.... much better than the cone of shame.


I didn't get my stuff done either but I did make progress..... I'm determined that this back flowerbed is going to get done this summer
and look like I want it to.

I do know that cats will attack other animals that they sense are unwell..... it's the weakness they sense and they have to dominate the weak and sickly.
I've had pets in the past that all get along until one is sick.... and then the sick one isn't safe anymore.
It does sound like he has a wire or two crossed too.
 
Poor Minka....sorry to hear she's feeling badly again and hope this episode is a short one!

It's great to hear the new little teddy bear outfit is working well!! Hopefully that'll help get those hotspots cleared up quickly.

OK now Mr. Cinco....time to head down to the lagoon! After China spent so much time in the deep water today, she may decide to spend the evening on shore!
 
I had to go back to look at yesterday's condo to see the pictures. OMG, Cinco is sooooo stinkin' cute. Seems comfortable in his outfit, too. Sure hope it solves the access issue. Both your accessing for testing and shooting ... and his not accessing for licking.

Sorry to see Minka's having a flare up. Poor girl. Poor bean.

And really sorry about the Harvey trigger being pulled. That sure doesn't help anything. Makes me feel a little relieved that I just have to give Rowsie a time out when she attacks Fuzzy...well, growls and smacks. And when she calms down, all is well for a while.

I iz here Cinco!! Was sitting on a log contemplating the meaning of live. I spent way too much time out in those shark infested waters today, so I may just rest and relax up here on shore. My bean keeps saying funny things like "Is that the only bounce you're going to do??" so maybe I should try harder. Hey, Mikey's an all star bouncer....maybe he can give me some pointers!! @Marycatmom ....can Mikey come over to give me some pointers? ~ China
 
Cinco is rocking his juice :D and his cute little outfit, just adorable, and he must be so glad to be out of the collar :)

Sending some extra scritches for poor little Sasha after her big fright yesterday.
 
I thought I posted in Cinco's condo yesterday. Congrats on the reducie. I'm glad the suit is working. Sending prayers for Minka. :bighug:
