Good evening everyone...

just thought Buca's numbers tonight were really high tonight.... He went down a bit this morning, but then was right back up at pmps...

This evening DH noticed a tiny air bubble in the lantus cartridge... so I'm wondering if it was contaminated, and if so, how long would it take before it would affect the insulin? If it was this morning's dose that caused an air bubble, would tonight's dose be contaminated and therefore not viable?

Hi Heather

I have had bubbles in my cartridges and as long as they are only air bubbles and not floating particles, they should be ok. I called the company and they said the cartridges often get
bubbles in transport. Buca might be bouncing from the 126 today. I'd see where he goes the next couple of cycles and if he doesn't get back into green when he clears the bounce,
he probably needs more insulin.

Ok good to know!
Back up to 1u possibly? hmm... we just lowered him to .75 :? So do you think give him another day or two and then decide?

He's still hovering around 350... I just updated the ss.

I'll be home tomorrow afternoon so I can gather more tests.

Yes...let's see how he does over the next few cycles. If he isn't getting into green, you could take him to 1u.
