Trix was definitely off both last night and first thing this morning...her appy wasn't nearly as good as it was for the previous two meals. I gave her cerenia this morning, which was due this evening so it was 12 hours ahead of schedule - hopefully that was OK to do, at least occasionally. She seems to be feeling better now. About half an hour after the cerenia, her appy started to pick up a bit and she does look more comfortable.

The ups and downs of this are so immensely stressful and emotionally draining. Ah, we've finally turned a corner! Nope, now we've backtracked. Oh wait, she's being more like herself! No, I don't want to eat that. I'm exhausted. I think I can deal with every aspect of this except the appy issues...those are killing me.

We did accidentally overshoot her fluids amount last night, and I wonder if that is part of why she was feeling off. We were aiming for 125mls, but for some reason it was moving WAY faster than usual, and before we knew it we were between 150mls and 175mls. That was at about 6:00 last night - early in the evening - and her appy did drop as the evening progressed.

She did just give me an extra round of snuggles, and was just snuggling with Petey until I annoyed them with the camera (apparently Petey wasn't in the mood to have his picture taken).

To add to my joys and stress, I got a notice for jury duty for the first week of August. I wish they would only call people who have the time and desire to serve. As if jury duty in and of itself isn't bad enough, the courthouse is not in a great part of Trenton. I do have to call the night before (every night for a week) to see if I actually have to report. Hopefully I'll manage to sidestep it.

It's a work and teaching day for me...finally off again tomorrow. I need it! Have a great day, LL!

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O)

I'm glad Trixie is feeling a bit more herself this morning. Maybe it was just an off night, maybe a small flare, it is always so hard to know for sure. I always so wish that they could tell us. I so hear you on the fuds issue. it was the one thing that caused me much anxiety and stress. Will he eat, won't he? And then there was the: can I shoot? I am so glad that you do not have to worry about that on top of everything else. Such a roller coaster it all was. Well, hang in there. I think you're doing great.

oh no on the jury duty.... That never does seem to come at a good time.

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

According to the vet on one of the yahoo lists, they don't absorb all the oral cerenia so I doubt it hurt to give it early. If you think she is still getting nauseous, I would ask about increasing the dose. I know that is what I had to do with Max and ondansetron. Love the beautiful  +3 visit.

Re: 6/6 Trixie AMBG 140 "+3" 72

Interesting about the cerenia. I hear dosing ideas that are all over the map. My vet prefers every other day for the long term, but I didn't want her dragging on till tonight feeling icky. I was assuming she was a little nauseous by her behaviors...she wasn't licking her lips or drooling, but she was turning her head away more adamantly than usual. I do wonder if the over-fluids we accidentally did last night may have thrown her off...she was on a pretty good roll of feeling well until after that. Or, it could just be a coincidence of timing.

I'm going to try to touch base with the vet at some point today...Trix is definitely feeling better (she just had an OK little snack for me - she never really seems to want to eat a lot midday, though - must be the way her body clock is programmed!), but I want to ask her about the cerenia and the fluids thing, too.

I'm glad Trixie seems to be feeling better. I hope she eats good tonight.

Yuck on the jury duty. Can you get out of it since you own your own business?

Re: 6/6 Trixie AMBG 140 "+3" 72

I'm sorry Trixie was feeling off, but I'm glad she seems to be doing better.

"Oh my" on the over fluids! I'll bet that did affect how she felt. It takes a while for the body to absorb all that, so I'm sure that's why she felt better later - that and the Cerenia.

Bummer on the jury duty. I would think, too, that you should be able to get out based on your employment.

Sending good appy vines.

Still so-so on the appy tonight, although it does usually pick up after the pepcid kicks in...fingers crossed for that tonight. I am one stressed out bean...we were doing so well for a couple days there, I had hope we were over the biggest hump of this nightmare.

I think we're going to skip fluids tonight, to give her body a breather from last night's fiasco.

I tried the "I own a business with no employees" (which is true - I have two partners, but no employees) excuse last time I got called for jury duty...it was a no-go. They're pretty cold-hearted these days...I don't know what they consider a "hardship", but apparently it has to be pretty significant.

Sorry to hear Trixie's back to being not so interested in her fuds! I swear these kitties know the best ways to make us worry!

I got lucky the last time I got called for jury duty...they were painting the inside of the courthouse which made me really sick to my stomach as well as dizzy, so when I complained about it, they sent me home. Guess they didn't want someone "dizzy" on the jury!

I thought it was kind of funny though that the defense attorney then asked the judge to add into the official record that the courthouse was being painted....guess he was grasping at straws for things to bring up on appeal if the case didn't go his way!

"My client didn't get a fair trial because all the juror's were high on paint fumes"?

Hope you can get out of it...it's really too bad that if we're the only caretaker of a diabetic parent, they'll usually let us go...but a diabetic cat doesn't count. They don't realize that to some people, family is family, whether it's 2 legged or 4

Sending healing and eating vines for Trix. I agree with you that the most stressful thing is an inappetant cat.

I got picked for jury duty last November but then they rescheduled me for January on the one day that I had all those agency people here from DC. So I tried to get them to reschedule me on another day, and they wouldn't do it. So I couldn't go. So far I haven't be arrested    but Mike always teases me about being a felon on the run. It was just frustrating because I gave them several days I could go instead. Crazy.
