Good afternoon everyone!
As you can see by the photo, another interesting morning in wild kingdom. First Tommy decided to give me a huge bounce after last nights greens, but he continues to do well and his numbers have come down quite nicely this afternoon :-D
Last night around 6pm Charlie got up to go potty and we noticed a very large swollen area on his left leg. We kept cold compress on it throughout the night and first thing this morning we took him too the vet to see what was going on. It seems that there's a good chance that with all the poking around on his hip the other day could have irritated the area enough where some fluid broke through and just made it's way down his leg.. Our vet said to keep an ace wrap on it for 48 hours or so to help the swelling go down and absorb back into his body..It's not a free flowing fluid so there was nothing to drain. He does seem to be walking a bit better today, but the arthritis in his back legs is pretty painful, so he does his duty and then comes back in and lays down.. He is eating and drinking on his own and right now is resting comfortably.. I took the photograph about a half hour ago!

Unfortunately last night before dusk the baby bluebirds decided to try and fly again and a predator got one of them  .. We managed to rescue the other one again and put him back in his home and when we went to bed, checked on him and he was still doing fine.. He went to look in on him this morning and still he was doing fine. When we got back from the vets, he checked on him again and he was gone, but no sign of him on the ground any where around and we saw no feathers.. So think good thoughts that he finally learned how to fly and he's going to be just fine..
Thank you all again for the prayers and words of encouragement on yesterdays condo.. DH doesn't go back to work until tomorrow, but I am making time to visit condos today to say hello and thank you and to see how all of your babies are doing!
Big Hugs from me and my Family :YMHUG:

Poor Charlie! We have a Charlie lab. He had to have two surgeries and 8 weeks of physical therapy for a torn acl. It is so hard when they are hurting.

Tommy is coming down for you, so that is a good sign. He is trying to give you a break!!

Hope you have a great day!

((((Lauren)))) You are such a sweetheart to care for all the needy animals. St. Francis must be your patron saint. Thank you for all the kind words in Gus' condo today. I posted in Coco's condo that FDMB should have an AA group (Adorable Acros)  Gus also needed some R today to keep him on the charts. C'mon down to a lower level, Tommy. Your bean deserves a break today! Have a good night guys.

So much has happened since I was here Saturday!! Glad Charlie's leg was tended to--
Tommy is doing well, hope he comes down for you tonite--
We always have baby birds here--we have lots of bird feeders, and big trees so nests are common..
I'm sure you know never to touch a baby bird with your hands or the mothers will reject them--We
wear gloves & have returned many babys to their nests--We are nuturers so we all take care of everything, Right??   --Enjoy your evening--Many Hugs from us!

Hi guys! Wow - lots going on in your neck of the woods. Positive thoughts for the baby bird. I hope Charlie will be fine. Poor guy! Impressive last night with Tommy too - well done! Sorry for the bounce today, but he is coming down nicely, and not to fast. I hope the rest of the day is a good one for him.

Have a great night guys!

Lauren: Hugs to you and Mark and the handsome Tommy today. I hope he'll come down tonight but not too fast!!

Poor Charlie!!! Sending him more healing vines. He is SO beautiful!!!! He's so lucky to have you and Mark and I agree that St. Francis must be your patron saint. I love it here in Tucson because twice a year they have a blessing of the animals and everyone takes their babies to church to be blessed. Everyone except us because Teddi is too shy, Gus would lick everyone to death, Gracie would hide under her blankie the whole time, and Tobey would be Mr. Sociable 2011!!

I'm so sorry something got one of the babies   You gave him such a great chance at life and learning to fly with his brudder! And yes, we will think very positive thoughts that the other one is soaring with mom and dad.

Hugs my friend. You are so special!!!

Poor Charlie :( I hope his lil leg is on the mend, he looks like such a good boy.

Tommy, you can come down from there you know, nothing to see up there.

Have a good night with your furry family.

hi lauren, just popping in for a sec to say hi! charlie looks a bit gimpy with his ace bandage leg - i hope it helps him feel better. and there's tommy up there in the rafters - "hey bud, come on down for awhile!" punkin's been up in the pinks a lot today. i don't know why his +9 was so much higher than his pmps - i guess that's just the way it goes.

i'm off to my quilting group. my youngest daughter has the car so i'm walking - not too far and it's nice this evening.

see ya in awhile!
