AMPS 266. Blood ketones 0.2. Weight 10lbs 10oz. BG came back up but ketones are still low and weight is way up. Still eating a whole lot, I had to give him 2 5.5 oz cans of food last night to keep him happy, so he's at about 4 cans a day, around 640 calories. Kind of concerning but I suppose if it's between eating too much or not eating at all, I'll take eating too much. No vomit and only one deposit in the box that looked like it was probably soft but solid.

Good update.

He may need to eat those extra calories as his body needs to work hard to get the nutrients out of the food - first the inflammation due to the IBD will prevent some absorption, the diarrhea/pudding poo which means it is moving through his body quickly before all the nutrients get a chance to be absorbed and then he needs the insulin in order to unlock that energy. The fact he is gaining weight and hungry are all great signs!!! Doing a great job Justin. Hopefully once his numbers get lower and his poo gets normalized then the calorie requirements will go down.

Have you tried him with rabbit? That is another protein that may help with the IBD.

257@+6, 256@+9. Appetite is pretty normal today. And he had a really good poop a half hour ago, medium brown, nice and solid.

I'm going to be trying raw food with EZComplete but right now I'm just sticking to his normal diet until we get a good stretch of consistent BMs and no vomit so I can accurately gauge the effects.

And look at this very good boy who came to hang out with me.

PMPS 275. Nothing new to report since last update.

I see some flat yellows, maybe something is gonna happen
I don't know about it being because of the flats, he's been pretty flat for a little over a week now. But, he seems to be following a very similar trajectory to the first round of mertz, with the diarrhea clearing up at about the same rate, and if the BG drops similarly also, I'm expecting that to happen in the next day or two. And when it does happen I'm anticipating it going pretty low and having to dose reduce again, since we've seen 3.5 is too much under normal circumstances twice now.

I probably won't get a reading tonight, if I happen to wake up at some point I will but I'm not going to set an alarm so I can stock up on sleep for when he does drop. Looking at the last drop, it took two cycles for him to make the full drop, so coming off a PMPS of 275 I'm not anticipating limes tonight but maybe tomorrow AM or PM.

He is gorgeous! Sctriches for him. I am a little bias to the grey cats. My Jonesy.View attachment 45406
Jonesy and Sebastian could be brothers. Ever since I got Sebastian I've been partial to the greys/Russian Blues. But I'm also very prideful and in my head I'm always like "Sebastian is better." :cat: I don't know if it's just him or a trait of the breed but he's so super chill and friendly. Every vet I've ever been to, all the techs fall in love with him because of how easy he is to work with and how friendly he is. The worst you'll get out of him is a little mumblegrowl of annoyance, he's never been even remotely aggressive towards anything in his life.

Jonesy was the same. The best patient. Only heard him growl once near the end. Never bit or scratched.

And he was my cuddle buddy and would purr all night long. I miss him so much.

Grey cats are the best!
