I ran home from the hospital when they took DH off to surgery to feed horses, test Sam. He had his arms "filleted" to get the pus/fluid out of his arms. Vertical cuts on the back of each hand, forearm front/back, upper arms front/back but muscles underneath are firm so is fascia, no flesh eating bacteria :shock: , the ID guy is a bit of a drama queen. So I did dancing_cat with the MIL and was so relieved. He's not out of the woods by a long shot but the worst part is over. (I hope, unjinx!)

Could not get a +6 I was at the hospital waiting for DH to come out of surgery.

Hello Sue: I'm sorry I have not yet welcomed you and Sam into LL and now you have this crisis going on with DH. You've got your hands full and look at how Sam came down today. Great catch. I'm sure everyone has given you tons of info and answered lots of questions but even eight months into this dance, we still have them so keep them coming.

We send healing vines and snowflakes to your DH and I hope he is home recovering very soon. Take care of you, too.

To be honest, I just let out a very deep breath I've been holding. How the heck did they miss the cellulitis? And thankfully, this wasn't flesh eating bacteria. I bet you did a happy dance!!

Sending lots of good thoughts that DH is going to heal quickly.

Are you able to get a +6? It's going to be helpful to know if this is a number that's coming up or going down.

hi sue - i'm glad they caught it - you must be so relieved. sounds scary and stressful - and you've got animals at home needing attention too.

so glad you and MIL were doin the sugar dance...and relieved DH is not having the worst thing possible.

My mom gets cellulitis....alot. They give her vincamycin....IV antibiotics. Hope they are doing something similar for your DH, Sue. Hope he's much better soon.

OMG surgery! :shock: Wow, I hope he is doing better soon, you must be stressed out of your mind. And I see Mr. Samwise is up to his old tricks red to green in no time at all :o . Kitty likes his green nadirs! :mrgreen: Amazing on just 1u too, I am happy to see his dose is lower now and he can still get good #s, yay! Now if we could just talk him into a gentle curve! ohmygod_smile

No kidding. Good to see you again Joanna! and Lori! and thank you everyone for your good wishes. Charlie came through the surgery okay. They opened his arms to relieve the pressure and check for infection. Turns out it was infection but no dead tissue at all! Good muscle tone and fascia in good shape too. Big relief. :YMSIGH: His little dog is getting very weird without his buddy. Wanting food all the time or treats, I have to let him check the car and garage every time I come home. He knows what car he left in. Maybe a week in the hospital, then more trips to the Infectious disease place for wrapping changes and packing! Ugh. But, he's alive and we caught it quick.
 
that's great news - the best possible! i'm so glad you caught it early and got help. is there anyone who can test samwise for you, feed baggins and give you a little break?
 
No, Sam is scared of strangers and I wouldn't trust anyone else with his shot otherwise. Well, maybe my MIL but Sam hides from all visitors.
 
THANK YOU ALL! I really mean it. I was so worried about the guy and the ID doc said this one really could have killed him. nailbite_smile
