Hi Sarah

I notice you are just increasing, at times, by a tiny bit. For how his numbers look overall, if he were mine, I'd stick with 0.25u increases. We save those little dose adjustments, by and large, for fine tuning when kitty is almost all in close to normal numbers...or is.... and we want the nadir and overall curve to come down just a bit.

Good luck with this dose!

Yeah...for awhile, 2.5 units was making him nosedive into the 30s, so I thought after getting calipers it would make sense to make slight increases like that after getting higher than 2.5 units, but I realize now with feedback on here that I should have stuck with the 0.25 unit increases/decreases... sigh. Thank you so much!

If you need help with controlling dives, please let me know. My girl loved to do it as well and I feel I am pretty well versed in managing the curve with food based on what Jill/Alex taught me.

I would love your guidance... what would you recommend in terms of feeding him, and how might I predict if he is going to dive? The idea of missing one of those dives while I am at work concerns me. I've brought him to work twice so far when his AMPS number was below 150 (preparing for an active cycle), but both days, I recall him staying relatively flat. The last time that a sharp, quick drop happened, his PMPS number was 264, so it caught me off guard. It was 24 hours after a dose increase though, so I am assuming that's why? I am having a hard time seeing patterns in his behavior right now. What I've done before is feed 1-2tsp. of MC (12%) FF if he falls into the 50s, 60s or 70s or sometimes even if he goes under 100 if it's early in the cycle.

Sorry to just get back here. It's my kitten's first birthday :joyful:

I'd like to study his SS. Can you tell me what you normally feed him, when in the cycle you feed, and how much he gets in a 12 hour cycle, please? That will help me see the context between when his food/feeding and action of the insulin.

I'm on the West Coast so there are three hours between us but I'll get some info to you tomorrow if you can send me the above, pls.

Thank you!

Your kitten's first birthday??!! Oh how sweet... what is his/her name, and how much did you spoil him/her? :cat::joyful:

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you taking a look at his spreadsheet and helping me to help him level out more, if that's possible.. right now, his numbers suck, but he did seem to be having real curves before, and I hope that when I get him on a more therapeutic dose, that will happen again. Here is the feeding info:

I feed him Fancy Feast Classics and a total of 10.5oz a day.

On week days:
AMPS: 1.5oz
+0.5: 1.5oz (when I leave for work)
+1: 0.75oz (timed feeder)
+3: 0.75oz (timed feeder)
+5: 0.75oz (timed feeder)
+7: 0.75oz (timed feeder)
PMPS: 1.5oz
Then 1.5oz at each of the next two testing times (e.g., if you see that I tested again at +1 and +2, then I fed 1.5oz at each of those times, or if you see that I tested again at +1 and +4, then I fed 1.5oz at each of those times, etc.)

On Saturdays and Sundays:
AMPS: 1.5oz
Then 1.5oz at each of the next three testing times
PMPS: 1.5oz
Then 1.5oz at each of the next two testing times

Note: I recently reduced his daily intake from 12oz to 10.5oz because he's looking a little heavy. His weight before diabetes was 14lbs; he got down to 10lbs by the time that he was diagnosed and was 11lbs 10oz at his last vet appt in February. Since Feb, he hasn't been weighed again, but I would guess that he is about 13lbs right now (he sees the vet again on Sat, so we'll see if I'm right).

Thanks so much, Marje!!! Please take your time; it is hard for me to get on here during the day on work days as you can see
