AMPS- 218
+6- 167
+8- 128
+10- 164
PMPS- 126
+2- 65

We started up high today, a continuance I gather from his missed Pm shot on the 6/4, he stayed up most of the day before starting to drop late this afternoon. Well most of an up-down-up-down thing...i'm not sure why he does this and can only assume food plays a role in it. I didn't do any tests this morning as his AMPS test was so high and really didn't think he'd drop anytime in the first few hours. Miley is also off his food, i'm still getting regular meals into him though they are smaller than usual and take a little coaxing to make him eat.

I tried my second lot of subq's today and it was another huge fail, I listened to my vet about heating the fluids when I should have followed the videos that i've been linked to on here. He was fine when I put the needle in but as soon as I started the fluids he started shaking and I could feel how cold they were, he then started to squirm, so I took the line out rather than distress him, if I get up the courage tomorrow I will try again with slightly heated water...I don't blame him for squirming with that cold stuff going in!

Anyhow, back to the FD, I can't say I was surprised by the PMPS number, I've been waiting for him to drop, around +10 my DD rang me and said he was acting a little strange (I was picking DH up from work), when I told her to test and no matter the number, to feed, she rang back and said he was okay. The strange behaviour was him simply meowing a lot and following her, Miley can be VERY vocal at times and it may have been something as simple as wanting her to take him to the toilet, he sometimes likes to be taken to his litter and have company while he goes...weird I know. He's really like a baby at times, when he meows you need to go through the obvious to see what he wants: food, water, toilet or simply to be hugged (yes I got the strange kitty  ).

Even though Miley was resting normally and didn't show any signs of distress, for some reason I felt the need to test him at +2, I'm getting to know how fast he can drop and I know he only ate about 3/4 of his dinner...lucky I did, with that drop down to 65...it gave me a shock! He's shown no signs of a hypo, but I gave him some gravy food (which of late is all he seems to really want), and am just testing him now half hour after the +2 and it is (testing) and it's up to 88...food assisted of course, but knowing him, he'll be back down in an hour!

That sets my mind a itsy bitsy at ease, I prefer him at a safer level! I was hoping for another good night's sleep but it's not looking good , luckily the DH is a bedhog and doesn't mind having the whole bed to himself!

Not sure if anyone would know this or if it just the sign of a fussy cat, but Milo has been off his food for the past few days, I have to open a few tins before I find one he likes, but he'll more happily eat off my fingertips than he will his plate. Is this anything I should be worried about or is it possibly just some of the upset tummy kicking in from his CKD? It's weird and I guess there's no right answer.

Hope everyone's day has been beyond brilliant, it was better for me than I thought, most of the day I thought it was Tuesday and then found out this afternoon it was really Thursday, I'm not sure how i've lost days, it's quite confusing! And tp all you Kitty cats, you best be behaving for your beans and not worrying them at all!

Hi Bebe,

I just came to visit and spotted that you're a fellow Aussie! I was just saying that it's tricky without many people to give advice during our evening. It's nice to see another Australian. I can't offer advice because I'm pretty new too. From the look of Milo's dx you two have been through an awful lot.

You've had a big drop this evening too. How are you going?

:RAHCAT Yay another Aussie! HIIIII!!! :RAHCAT

It is a little quiet when I post, but then when I wake I usually get on to quickly see if there've been any replies. Milo is one of those uber healthy cats and then everything goes wrong at once. Most of his health issues have only occurred within the past 12 months and it's been a scary ride and an uber expensive one too! But then as an Aussie you already know how ridiculous vet prices are! We're at the point now where we're just taking each day as it comes, his diagnoses isn't very good with his stage 4 CKD, so as long as I can keep him happy and comfortable, we are just being grateful for this time. When he's ready to go, i'm sure he'll find a way to let me know  .

Yes, he's had a scary drop but then he's been riding low for a few weeks now, our biggest issue is that he has random hypoes when he's under 80 (4.5ish to us), so low numbers aren't as good as they should be! I wasn't expecting that drop tonight, it's come as a surprise and it's looking like a long night for me. I'm also on wee wee watch as I need to test him for ketones, but he seems to psychically know what I want and is being sneaky.

Hope you're having a great night (though it's late now!) and it isn't too cold down your way.
