Re: 6/6 Jan and Buddy AMPS 325 +3 270

come on Buddy, let's see some blue!

I don't remember how long it is until you will be home all the time. When that happens, I'd like to see a dose increase and see if Buddy can smash those IAA's into submission. He does get green every now and then, and that complicates things, but if you're home you can feed those green cycles to keep them from getting out of control. Just my opinion.

Re: 6/6 Jan and Buddy AMPS 325 PMPS 382 Libby

Libby,
Thanks I appreciate your input! I know everytime you look at Buddy's numbers you want to cringe!!! LOL Your probably right in what your thinking, here is my thinking whether it is right or wrong.
I will be home full time in about 3-4 weeks, I'm switching to Lev, and my full time job at that time will be to get Buddy's numbers under control! Maybe I should be concentrating more on that now, but I just want to be here to be able to keep an eye on things. I'm hoping that just by switching to Lev and controling the food better his numbers will change drastically. I hope at that time you will still continue to give your input.

Thanks
Jan

I don't want to speak for Libby. My guess is that you want to weigh the strategy you outlined against the potential that Buddy's staying in higher numbers may make it harder to break through that pink barrier. The longer Buddy stays in higher numbers, the more his body will treat those numbers as "normal", the potential for bounces will be there, and the harder it is on his body. The other thing to remember is that Lev is not magic.

Re: 6/6 Jan and Buddy AMPS 325 PMPS 382 Libby

Sienne,
Not following your line of thinking by saying Lev is not magic? Lantus is not working at this point, so a switch to Lev is next up at plate. It doesn't need to be magic to work better than what is not working. There are suspected problems with Lantus in *some* higher dose cats, and many of us HDers who have switched have noted it seems as if the cat was actually fighting the lantus. Naturally that's not any sort of proven thing because who's gonna do that kind of research on a CAT but.. I don't understand why you would say that. Would you prefer she stuck with Lantus?
