Good morning kitty lovers,
Laurie - you were right - I fell asleep with testing materials and cans of food surrounding me. Woke up at +10.5 long enough to crawl into bed for an hour. I'm sorry to those that were checking in and helping for dropping off like that. Fax is at 335 this morning, ate his food, was happy with the amount I gave him and promptly asked to go outside - I'm getting my boy back!!
Thanks again for all of the great advice and support last night. I will do my best to get used to the green numbers! They are a GOOD thing!

Re: 6/6 FAX AMPS 335

Good morning guys ... sounds like Fax has had a good morning so far, hope it continues for him .. have a great day guys!

Re: 6/6 FAX AMPS 335

It helps to set an alarm if you're up late testing. Cell phones have so many useful purposes!! You did great last night. Now let's see how quickly Fax clears the bounce.

Re: 6/6 FAX AMPS 335

Good morning Roisin! I'm glad to see the update, and hear that Fax is feeling good. Sienne gave you a good suggestion...I use my cell phone for alarms all the time, it works great (when I don't sleep through them  ). You did great! I hope Fax clears the bounce quickly and gets back to those pretty greens!

Re: 6/6 FAX AMPS 335

I'm pretty sure right before passing out I had the thought - "I should set an alarm" aaaaand then I woke up and it was morning. oopsy.
It all turned out ok and I feel like I learned a lot last night as well. Both good things!

Re: 6/6 FAX AMPS 335

nicely done last night - sorry for the bounce this morning. I hope Fax clears it soon. Sorry on the alarm thing.... I've done that, or rather not done that, more times than I can count....

this was the best part:

Re: 6/6 FAX AMPS 335

so glad to hear he's feeling better. one day at a time - it's SO slow for us who like instant action! hahahaha my best moment was a couple of weeks ago when i realized punkin had refluffed (i know i mentioned it) - i don't know when it happened, but a greasy kitty looked like a sick kitty. a fluffy kitty looked like a healthy kitty. it was such a subtle change, but made a lot of difference. you'll continue to see fax's "real" self come back.

i have about 8 alarm settings on my phone - all turned off. i used to change one setting, but then i realized that i could just leave them all and turn on the time i wanted. how's that for pathetic! we should rename this lantus support group to the nightly vampires club!

Re: 6/6 FAX AMPS 335

Glad he is feeling better! What a night huh? I've been there. Then you dream about poking. Hope you have a great day and get some much needed rest!

Re: 6/6 FAX AMPS 335

Ha! Oh God - I'm in trouble if I start dreaming about testing!

His number is coming down nicely I think today. And he didn't ask for food at all this morning after breaky - big improvements.

I unfortunately was not at home today to do mid cycle testing. My neighbour saw him eating a chipmunk a few hours ago so we know he's still on the hunt!
I am going to try and catch another ketone test tonight.
Hopefully I get some nice low numbers tonight.

H Roisin: congrats on Fax's first green numbers!!! Woo hoo!!! Glad you had Laurie and Julie with you. That first trip down the numbers can be nerve wracking but soon you'll know just what to do when.

It's definitely tough to get used to that nighttime testing. I've always had this policy about once I go to sleep, do not wake me unless there is a disaster. Well, I hardly ever sleep through the night anymore and even when Mike is on night duty with Gracie, I automatically wake up about every hour   I also use my cell phone; I take it to bed with me and can program in several times. All I have to do is check the box next to the time I want. Yes, we are all vampires in more ways than one!

You asked what I use on Gizmo's teeth. This is the oral hygiene kit I use. A friend mentioned how the enzymatic toothpaste worked well for her cat and she liked this particular brush -- it fits into a cat's mouth better than most of the other brushes.
