6.6 Chico 79@AMPS broke Lantus ampule

Chico started having these pretty preshots, which means more testing and a need to start testing later in PM cycle to see what is happening there (we are spoiled of usually not having to put an alarm for the night )

Today in the morning (i was still half asleep) i dropped the ampule of Lantus in the floor, of course it was almost full It cracked at the end and threw one crack thread under the rubber. I pulled out abt 50U of insulin to take the rubber under the crack. Do you think we can still use this ampule or should we better start a new one?

I've had this happen to me. I dropped a Lantus cartridge and it cracked but fortunately there is a plastic(?) coating on it that prevented it from breaking completely and the insulin from spilling. I was able to still use the cartridge.
As long as the insulin is clear and there are no floaties, it should be okay.

I pulled out abt 50U of insulin to take the rubber under the crack.

Thank you Bhooma for reassuring me, it would be such a waste to throw at least a month worth of insulin.

One of the cracks went lower until under the black rubber and i wanted to bring the rubber all the way under that crack. Does that make any sense?

Yup. I think the insulin should be good. You will know soon anyway.
