Good afternoon everyone!
Thank you all again for the continued good wishes, prayers and kind words for me and my family.
Things are a bit rough right now, but we will make it through. Today is my husbands birthday and he is off as well as tomorrow. We have nothing special planned, just doing some things around the house and trying to keep Charlie as comfortable as possible.. He still can't stand very well and when I finally got him to lay down yesterday and relaxed, I put a pillow on the floor, turned a fan on him and we just laid there together for hours.. About 4pm yesterday his breathing finally slowed, he laid his head down and fell asleep. About a half hour later he started dreaming (that made my heart happy), I think he was chasing something or playing with Ryleigh. His tail was wagging and his feet were running.
Tomorrow i'm going to see about getting Bupe for his pain and find out how much it will cost. Tramadol doesn't seem to agree with him very well.
Tommy is doing well. I don't notice any discomfort with his mouth when he eats and his numbers look quite a bit better today.
To add to the mix yesterday, I rescued 3 baby eastern bluebirds early last night. 2 of them were on the grass, one was very alert and one wasn't.I'm pretty sure they were trying out flying lessons for the first time. I looked inside their home to find one more in there that wasnt' doing well at all.. I got him out of there and took the other one that was somewhat alert and brought them up to the house and with the help of Marje and her pedialyte recipe proceeded to feed them little drops at a time which they finally accepted.. Unfortunately the one that I took from the nest that wasn't doing well, eventually fell asleep in my hand  . I had left the very spry one down in the grass because i had seen the momma feed him earlier and didn't feel the need at the time to disturb them. The little one that i had been feeding started to perk up much to my happiness and when my husband came home we took the ladder a spot light and the perky little blue bird and headed down to look for the one I had left in the grass.. He was still there and alive.. We gently placed them both back in the nest and gave them a few more drops of the mixture.. I knew I had done all i could. It was up to mommy and daddy to take over..
So this morning after breakfast, my husband went to check on them and he said they both were very much alive and turned their heads towards him with those big eyes as if to say, Thanks! I sure hope they make it.
I need to check on Tommy and Charlie now! Please know that I am keeping all of you in my heart and hope that you and your babies are doing well today.
I appreciate the understanding more than you know for my absence a lot these past couple of days..
I'll be back as soon as I can. Hugs, Hugs and more Hugs :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
