I have no idea where these low numbers from last night and this morning came from. Just as I was going to increase. I'm holding off on any increase at this time. Once again, Susie surprises me.

@FrostD - muzzles are more for aggressive dogs to stop them from biting. Kali has one but she pulls it off with her paw. They do make tougher ones that wrap around their head better but they say they don't stop them from barking.

@Suzanne & Darcy - yes, Kali is my "wild child" foxhound.

Delightful is not a word I would ever use for Kali. The words I would use for her would be: stubborn, loud, a thief, a "bull in a china store", strong as on ox, fast as a horse, inpatient, undisciplined, smart as a fox, adorably cute and my girl. She steals food off the table and the counter. She took my Chicken Kiev right off my plate last night when I turned my back. She was kind enough to leave me the rice but only because I started hollering. When I "rehomed" her I was not told of all the issues she has. The barking is the one thing that I (and my neighbors) cannot tolerate. I'm doing everything I can to keep her but if this bark collar does not work I will have to find some other place for her. I will not take her to a shelter.

Another amazing day for you and Zen. Just think, you might be able to get your life back. Go out. Go on vacations. The icing on the cake is that he will be healthy! I'm really happy for you, Emily.
 
Your Kali sounds like the dog version of Zen's sister, Queso. :joyful::joyful::joyful: That cat knows not the meaning of calm. She literally screamed at the door for hours when hubby (back before he was hubby) moved out and no longer had a roommate that was willing to let her outside anymore. I've never heard a cat so loud in my entire life. You're a great cat and dog mama, Summer. <3

Fingers crossed on Zen. I keep waiting for him to go out of bounds. I just catch myself staring at him, wondering, "is today the day you decide you need insulin again?" It's pretty ridiculous, if I'm being honest. We'd planned a vacation that we thought we were going to have to split up (hubby takes one week and I take another), but it's possible that we could end up being able to take at least some of the time together now. I honestly am having a hard time even imagining it. :joyful::joyful::joyful:

Your Queso sounds like a handful. Love all the different personalities of our fur friends. It is SO wonderful that you have that Freestyle meter. Not having to poke every hour on the hour when they go low or just to monitor the OTJ. I hope you and your hubby get a chance to vacation together. It is well deserved after taking such wonderful care of Zen.

Ain't it the truth, Gita. Wally got some very nice greens last night and looks like he might be bouncing this morning. Seems your kitty is as unpredictable as Susie. I was planning a small increase today and don't know where these blues came from after a frustrating week at my current dose. Thanks for visiting my condo and have a beautiful day. :smuggrin:
 
Gosh, it just seems like she wants to go blue on this dose and just barely can't yet! Come on, Susie-- it works if you work it! :bighug: Nice job keeping her surfing, even if she wants to bounce. <3

A very strange day. I think she might have gone fairly low last night after I got the higher +4 reading. Therefore this very early bounce today. I am going to try and increase tomorrow morning but not sure I will go full-on to 2 units. I might do a skinny 2. Frowned upon by folks in this group, I think, because I don't think the skinnys and the fats are a part of the SLGS protocol. I'm just not prepared to jump into the deep end again. I'm still trying to find the low blues and high greens. They can't be that elusive.
 
Wow. It's crazy how a cat can bounce from Blues! She really didn't go that low. I guess she thinks she did! So glad you did not increase yet. She needs lots of time! I hope your day is okay, Summer. I can empathize with what you are going through.
