Last night ended with mostly purple and a yellow at PMPS +5 of 289.

We were hoping he'd go down so the dose would not have to be increased.

Do I stick with the .25 now? Now that he's coming down with this dose, does it mean his depot is full?

Thanks

Re: 6/4 Poe AMPS 273

I would do the dose increase tonight.
I saw the suggestions last night. I just think, since you're not home during the day, and he was kind of flat yellow last night, and is still pretty flat, that that flat yellow could mean an active cycle. And you are essentially doubling the dose.
These are just my thoughts.

Re: 6/4 Poe AMPS 273

I feel better sticking with the .25 since I do have to leave for work.

I might be able to do some check today, a +2 and possibly a +6.

Thanks

Good luck with the increase if you decide to do one tonight. Hope you have a good day,

Re: 6/5 Poe AMPS 273 +2 341 +6 267

I just realized I had put the wrong date in...I fixed the subject and added the 2 tests I took today.

I stopped at Walmart for the syringes..I give up...it's nothing but confusion now. So, I'll just stick with the needles I have, as the .5 (if we increase) will be easy to measure, and I've done ok with the .1 and .25.

If we increase to .5, which I think might be in his best interest depending on what his AMPS +11 and PMPS shows, what kind of testing am I looking at through the night? I know doubling the dose requires much more monitoring than usual.

And one thing I haven't asked yet...what is the normal BG range for a cat?

Thanks for the help.

Re: 6/5 Poe AMPS 273 +2 341 +6 267 +11 294 Dosing ?

I'm ready...just need to know if I should be testing him through the night?

Re: 6/5 Poe AMPS 273 +2 341 +6 267 +11 294 Dosing ?

After posting your PMPS number...I would start with a +2 and post the number, and go from there. We'll let you know when to test next.

Hi Karen,

Normal range is around 50-120 mg/dl. You will also see ranges listed around 70-150 for normal values too.
