Yesterday http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=72474 dipped her toe in the green lagoon, but didn't go very far in. As a result of that, and drinking way too many niptinis at the Strawberry Moon party last night, she is sky high this morning. Understandably, Neko is a little grumpy this morning. No play observed, but she has done a couple of yard patrols for exercise. The rest of the P's are in place and CPC as usual.
I am looking for more green and low blues in the picture, and we are in cycle 5 of this dose. Provided she gets over this bounce by tomorrow morning, I'm thinking of upping her again then. Does this sound like a good plan?
OT to Neko: I got a call yesterday from my friend's colleague who just had a cat diagnosed with diabetes a week ago. The vet has their cat on Caninsulin and dry DM. Sigh, we had a discussion about that and I've pointed them to FMDB and Dr. Lisa's page. They have lots of questions of course, and the most important one was what I thought about their vet's instructions to up the dose to 6 units from 4, without blood testing and knowing when the nadir is!!!!  The only information the vet was basing the decision on was the results of a urine strip test. And yes, I did express my opinion on that. On the positive side, they are interesting in blood testing so a home visit may be in order some time.
