Yesterday's condo: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=96818

After missing Milo's PM shot last night, I expected Miley's numbers to be up, but must admit I had my secret hopes that he would be able to sustain his low numbers without insulin. He remained low overnight, luckily the daughter caught it (while I slept) and stayed up to feed and monitor him. So he was back on his insulin this morning 0.75 unit and with his numbers up I felt confidant giving him his shot tonight also. I've managed to give him small feeds about ever 2 hours. I have noticed that he seems to be having trouble seeing, the vet mentioned that this was likely to happen with his BP being so high but has been checking his eyes and she has said that his eye sight might be compromised but so far it should come good when his BP lowers...not sure if I believe this, but it gives me hope at least. I know he can still see to a certain extent but when I put his food down, I find that i'm having to guide him a little to it.

I'm hoping for another night's sleep but am not holding my breath to early , it seems weird to still be so tired after having slept last night. Hope everyone has had a wonderful day, and the Kitties have been behaving.

Thanks for in info in your condo from yesterday. I wonder if Milo is getting more accustomed to being back in more normal numbers. Hopefully, that's the case and he will become progressively less sensitive to low numbers.

Many cats will look for food if their numbers run low. It's great that he does this. Gabby, on the other hand, can sleep through low numbers or she'll sit and stare at me. Silly cat!

Milo's ALWAYS been a food lover, I think he actually likes being diabetic as we give him so much more food now! Over the past few days he's gotten horribly fussy to the point of only eating off my fingertips, to me this isn't a good sign for a kitty who usually breathes his food down. I'm just watching now and worrying more than I probably should be. But what can I say...he's been my best friend (though a little on the hairy side) for nearly 16 years...I shall be lost when he goes.
