Good Morning LL

It's a fresh new day. :-D The bean is going to remember that Checkers like to take a trip to the red and black floors, pre shot time, and try not to panic today.

Even Dr Dave wasn't horrified, yesterday. Poor guy returned my earlier call, just as I found out that Checks was 527.
Once again, he had to hear me trying not to cry. He's used to it.
I had called about the recurring diarrhea, not diabetes.

He doesn't use the word "bounce", but he was unfazed by the number, telling me that one high number wasn't so bad
(Bold,, my words!)
He talked about ketoacidosis, but I don't like to repeat what others say, 'cause if one word is wrong, it can change the whole meaning.

Today is starting out good. Good breffis, took pill well, took bupe well. He is purring on the desk next to me, hoping I'll toss a kibble his way......sorry Checkers. :-D

Thank you Everybody, who helped get me through the crisis in my head. :-D

((((Barb)))) I know you worry about the big guy. It is easy to freak out. We have all done it and will again I am positive. You are a great bean. Now Checkers, that is a very pretty yellow. No more bouncing, k? Sounds like you have a great vet.

Great news on a good day there. No kibbles for Checks. Have a wonderful day Barb!

Hi Barb. So glad to see Checkers on the lower rungs of the color ladder this morning. We all get befuddled when a Red or Back number pops up. All we can do is to do our best; and you are.

Have a great day Barb.

These bouncy kitties will drive us nuts. Paws crossed that this slide was slow enough that Checks doesn't go bouncing all over the place tonight. It helps to remember, he always comes down again ……… and a glass of wine doesn't hurt either! ;-)

Re: 6/5 Checkers pmps 288

That pmps may be bumped a little from food at +11. He was crying to eat, and well.....you know  :-D

We had a wonderful day! Checkers was active, happy, purry, silly boy, played with new stuffed ball. He never plays. :-D

I'm giving bupe twice daily, not waiting for symptoms. I'm sure that's why he was so happy today.

Mama was out this afternoon and brought home Purina One Pate, 'cause I had coupons for 2 free. He loved the chicken.
Well, this time he did

Re: 6/5 Checkers pmps 288

Nice that Checkers saw some blue earlier today.

I am very much relating to the "crisis in my head" ....

So I'll just send you a hug for yours.....

Re: 6/5 Checkers pmps 288

Barb --

I'm sure you know this from your own back problems but the trick with managing pain is to get ahead of it. If you wait until you hurt, you're having to play catch up which can mean an extended period before you get the pain to subside and stabilize. It's no different for Checkers. Giving him bupe twice a day will let him get ahead of the pain.

Re: 6/5 Checkers pmps 288

What a wonderful Checkers condo today :-D :-D :-D !!!! Trix liked the Purina One pates, too...and so did her BGs. I had to stop them, though, because they were too high in phosphorous  . I hope Checks likes it forever and ever!

Have a great evening, Barb!

Checkers had an undeserved higher treat an hour ago. He nudged Tux out of the way, and took over his saucy food.
I let him, 'cause there wasn't much left.
Mama's going to bed. No chance of Himself coming down now.

Uh oh, I didn't think of phosphorus....thanks Amy

I don't know if you really have to worry too much about the phosphorous if his kidneys are running well. Trix was showing early signs of kidney issues, which is why we started messing with her diet again, which meant taking away her FF and Purina One, even though her BG numbers were great on both those fuds.

Checkers does have mild (don't know if that's the right word) kidney issues. I tried many low phos foods, but always end up back at FF, because that's all he eats well.
