Well no numbers in front of me - she was 190's at +5 but is also having stressed filled day. Brougt her to work and had an"illegal" ultrasound done on her alien. Bad news - it is solid mass with some blood supply to it. I was hoping it was going to be cystic.

Did get her lab values back. Nun was up slightly at 48 and her creat was down a little at 2.6.

So, when I get done typing this I am calling the oncology specialist to get consult arranged. Would probably be willing to get biopsy and attempted reval but nothing else given age and health.

Re: 6/4 Tuscany - paw alien

Oh Joyce,

I am sorry to read this. Hopefully, it's something easily treatable. and all will go back to normal.

Re: 6/4 Tuscany - paw alien

I hope your consult goes OK and Tuscany's alien issue is resolvable.

Re: 6/4 Tuscany - paw alien

Are there any dietary changes that you might be able to make to reduce the BUN? The creatinine is just so close to the upper limit of normal!! It sounds like you didn't have a urine specific gravity.

I'm glad you got the ultrasound, even if it was "illegal." Are you hanging in?

Re: 6/4 Tuscany - paw alien

(((Joyce & Tuscany))) We hope that your consult will go well and that the alien will be able to be dealt with in an acceptable manner. Thinking good thoughts and sending them to you.

Re: 6/4 Tuscany - paw alien

Well Joyce,.....knowledge is power as they say...good luck with the appointment. At least you know for sure now. Sigh. I am sorry that you two are going through this and I hope there will be something that is doable. Will be keeping Tuscany in my prayers...and you as well Joyce. Hugs :YMHUG:

Re: 6/4 Tuscany - paw alien

(((((((Joyce-Tuscany)))))) So sorry the paw alien wasnt a cyst, but hopefully it will be a very treatable thing-

Re: 6/4 Tuscany - paw alien

good luck with the onco consult. I'm one of those annoying eternal optimists, so I hope it will turn out to be something that can be easily removed. Come on, Tuscany, you can do it!

Re: 6/4 Tuscany - paw alien

((( Joyce ))) I hope it's something easily treated.

I liked DH's comment in yesterday's condo:

(((((((tuscany)))))))) (((((((((((((((((((joyce)))))))))))))))))))

I certainly hope this turns out to be something that can be resolved and/or tolerated.
You take the best care of tuscany. I have faith it will all work out for the best.

Hang in there!

Pssst...good on the creatinine! Many factors can influence bun. I usually dont get too upset unless its a very large rise and/or consistant. Latte's bun was like 140??? I think during the ARF. Anything under 100 is awesome for us!

yesterday: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16349

Well, Tuscany was very happy to be home. She had the ultrasound experience (not sure if the human tech was more traumatized or tuscany :) - but it was a first for all). She also had another limb xray and I threw in a chest xray while we were at it. Chest looks ok -

Thanks for all the well wishes. This timing of all this does suck. We are out of town june 19-28th - as in out of the country, not reachable and no trip insurance. So if the onc on the 11th can get me over to surgeon - at the very earliest we would be doing surgery would be days before we leave - not the best to leave a cat with just a few days of recovery - especially a sugar cat. So, then we delay til after we are back (but I am gone July 8-12th). Like I said - sucks.

Well, I got to get to bed - I've got to work in the am - them go to a 1 y/o birthday party.
