I have decided not to increase Susie to 2 units tomorrow. I have some personal concerns that deal with my 90 year-old Mom and her bad reaction to her latest chemo. I cannot be tied to Susie, if she is going low, if my Mom needs me to take her to the ER for chest pains or severe nausea. She is also having severe hip pain which requires that I drive her to doctor appointments. I will shoot for a fat 1.75/skinny 2 units. Based on my Ulticare syringes, and the fact that 1.75 units is 2.18 mm on the calipers, and 2 units is 2.5 mm on the calipers I will estimate that she will need 2.34 mm on the calipers. Sorry to disappoint. Life hands you lemons when you least expect them and don't need them. I know so many people on this site are dealing with personal issues.
On top of that, it looks like I have to find a new home for my foxhound. I received an official complaint from the Sheriff's office regarding her barking. This requires me to constantly walk her outside on a leash instead of just letting her go. This really has little impact on Susie but does require additional time. I bought her a "bark collar" which was my last resort. I don't think they are very humane but if I want to keep her I have to control the barking. I just cannot be worried about dealing with Susie going low, needing constant feeding and constant monitoring at this time. I will do the best I can with a slight increase and will take it from there. I'm still SLGS so I will live with the 7 day consequences.
