Neko was feeling frisky (for her) this morning. When we came back from rowing she was very focused, hopping downstairs and made a bee line to the downstairs LB and peed while we were washing our gear. I don't know why, but something about us coming home triggers that reaction. :lol:

Today was pants combing day. :twisted: Those of you with long haired cats may know what I mean. Neko isn't fond of pants being combed and complained through the entire exercise. Then it was Theo's turn, he purred and drooled on my lap. :roll: Granted, Theo's fur is a shorter and he has way less undercoat.

It all started when I lifted Neko up for last night's +9 test and felt something that wanted to be a knot. I explored it a bit, trying to separate the fur. She rewarded me with a bite. I subsequently tested myself and was surprised how high I was. I wonder if I get dawn phenomenon. First time I've tested myself at 4:45AM. I was higher than Neko! :o

Sending vines to kitties and beans in need today. It's also the anniversary of Tiananman Square protest, so glad we have our freedom.

Hi Wendy!

Our fur babies know how to reward us well, don't they? :lol: A few weeks ago, while opening a can of cat food, I cut myself, and guess what was my instinctive reaction? To test myself too, of course :-D :-D :-D.

I hope Neko comes back down to those wonderful greens very soon.

Hi Wendy,

Neko has been giving you some pretty great numbers of late - you'll have to remember not to bring out Mr. Vacuum before shot time :lol: . So cute to read that Neko and Theo engage in a whackfest and then snuggle up with nose kisses.

The other day you posted a webcam of Deep Cove and I wanted to tell you that I watched the sun rise over the mountain overlooking the bay on Saturday morning. It was absolutely gorgeous - I can well imagine how beautiful and peaceful it must be to be on the water, kayaking at Deep Cove in the early morning hours. As soon as my son gets back from his visit to San Francisco, I'm going to let him in on this magnificent spot. You're a very lucky lady, Wendy!

Wendy, when I first started learning how to test, I didn't know to put something behind Tiger's ears and I've lost track of how many times I poked myself (and ended up testing myself out of curiosity :lol: ) before I learned to put cotton there... Interesting note, doesn't Neko typically save her best lowest numbers in the evening?

I love the nice slow slides Neko's gets on Levemir. :-D Somebody puked up brown liquid on the solarium floor this afternoon - but I have no idea which cat. I'm guessing not Neko just because she's usually not the delicate one. Shedding season is in full force so it might have been a wannabe hairball.

@Cristina, Anne, Ruth, Carla, Tara - Sounds like we've all become testaholics - even if it's on ourselves. :lol: I guess it's better to have a BG baseline. Carla called it on the lagoon session, and yes Ruth, Neko prefers lows during the night. :roll:

Looking gorgeous there Neko! :mrgreen: And I'm sure she's looking even more gorgeous after the pants combing. Our oldest civilian isn't the most fastidious of cats, and even though he's short-haired, he's got a super-thick undercoat. He gets pants combings pretty regularly. He can't decide whether he loves it or hates it. He purrs and tries to bite at the same time. We call them butt brushings. :lol:

Hopefully Neko will surf in some nice flat high-ish green numbers tonight so you can get a reasonable amount of sleep. :-D Have a good night Wendy!

We call them pantaloons. Rusty does a great job on his, but I have to separate the fur clots in his belly hair at this time of year. Today I just cut one off!
Neko, you look mighty good in green. Rusty hopes to join you in the lagoon later. He's almost there tonight.

Pants episode was forgiven - we had lots of purrs this evening. :cool:

@Jen, Ella, Michelle - Pants (also called pantaloons here) are now fluffy for a while. But Neko decided to take a brief rest on shore. I suspect she'll either take a lagoon dip or stay close on short tonight.
