Well it seems like my girl is perfectly back to normal. She ate a real good breakfast, had a bath and then swatted each of the boys just because she can. Today will be a resting up day for her while her Mom runs around . I want to get her a birthday present for tomorrow and also have to go and vote on the ratification of our new contract. I'm still not sure how I'm going to vote. Oh well.

So it looks like the pattern for the chemo may be feeling lousy the first 2 days after the chemo, then mediocre for 2 days and then good for three and then start the pattern all. Hopefully she'll get used to it and it won't effect her so much. To be honest the weekend was really rough and I was really questioning whether I am doing right by her. Friday is chemo day. She will have her CBC checked and then get the the Cyclophosphamide.

Have a good day everybody.

i don't know the frequency of tori's treatments, but ours was every three weeks. once i figured out the pattern, we tried to get a local reiki practitioner in to give meowzi a reiki treatment on the day before or the same day that she would feel really lousy. i.e. her chemo appts were wed mornings, she would start feeling horrible by saturday or sunday, so i'd try to get deb (our reiki practitioner) to come in on friday night or saturday. it really did help. FDMB friends sent long-distance reiki too, and that helped as well.

Hi Barb and Tori, Great WCR! So glad to hear that Tori is feeling good. The boys (Stu, Mannie and Spotty) will be over tomorrow afternoon with Tori's birthday cake, and all the LL kitties will be descending on you, so be prepared!!! It's going to be a neat party.

Purrcie is excited about the party tomorrow. He has been resting up in anticipation. The catillac is polished and ready to bring Tori's friends over and then everyone is planning on going out cruising for a little while. Tori might want to bring a jacket in case the breeze is chilly with the top down.

See you tomorrow! Loved hearing the happy cat report!

Tori has continued to have a good day. She's been eating well without any prompting and has been taking her meds in her pillpockets willingly. Her BGs are if nothing else consistent. I'm really thinking of raising her dose a bit more. She's going to be on the Prednisilone for at least 24 more weeks so we might as well get as tightly controlled again as possible as quickly as possible. What do you think?

It's been a real hard day for me today. I took Ayanna with me to my work to vote on the contract and then I took her up to my ward basically to show her off which us Nannas are prone to do. She told them that we were going to buy a birthday present for Tori. I couldn't believe it on of the male LPNs said to Ayanna '"Well don't let your Grandma put that one in the dryer too and kill it." I think my heart stopped at that point. One of the other nurses said that I turned white as a ghost and he thought I was going to pass out. I didn't say anything and quickly left.

For those of you who don't know in Oct 2008 Tori developed a very bad case of Gastritis following being given Metacam. It was so bad she actually vomited up part of her stomach mucosa. She then became septic and also developed acute pancreatitis. She almost died. The night that she was fighting for her life I had to go to work. I went to put some clothes in the dryer but my daughter already had clothes in it. I left the door open. I wasn't gone for more than 30 seconds but I didn't notice that Tiga our youngest kitty climbed in. I turned it on and went upstairs to have a nap. The next thing I knew I was waking up to my daughter screaming. It was too late Tiga was gone. I have never gotten over the horror of that night and I don't think I ever totally will.

Why did her have to say that? He knows how devastated I was when it happened. The people at work know Tori has cancer and how scared and upset I am about it. Why say something like that? I just don't get it.

Anyway after we left we went to Pet Smart and Ayanna picked gifts for Tori. She picked out a kitty cozy "because Tori is sick and she needs a special bed", a catnip filled carrot toy and a pet sitter video. Pretty lucky kitty isn't she?

ANyway sorry this has turned into an epistle. Tomorrow is Tori's 14th birthday and we're going to have the bestest birthday party a kitty has ever had right?

Have a good night everybody. Kiss your babies for me. Tori is sitting beside me grooming. SHe looks so healthy and beautiful. I still can't believe this is happening.
