Several incidents of vomiting last night - just fur, he's shedding a lot, and feeling better he's paying more
attention to his appearance these days :-D

Appetite good, this is the 6th day on full dose (2.5mg BID) Tapazole.

Still nothing but :mrgreen:

Sorry about the vomiting. My Simon does the same thing alot. Nothing like some nice hair balls to have to clean up! He is looking great as usual this morning!

Tarragon had A LOT of hairballs once he started getting better because he had neglected his fur for so long when he was sick. Hope Simon keeps it to a minimum but that is definitely a sign that he is paying attention to his appearance. Got to look good for the ladies! Rawr!

Good morning Simon!

I'm doing some research on radiation treatment for my kitty's hyperthyroidism. He's on Tapozole too (1/2 tablet twice a day, one tablet = 5mg). I'm learning that Tapozole can be harsh on their tummies. I don't know about vomiting but Junior has definitely lost his appetite over the last month and I'm thinking that it's the Tapozole. The folks over at the Hyperthyroid Yahoo group recommended this video as another solution if I decide not to go with the radiation.

Simon is, as always, looking impressive!

I used the transdermal tapazole with my civvie Mario. He's been on it since January...it's sooo easy to administer, and his thryoid is - to quote the vet - "the best regulated it's ever been." Mario has had no signs of side effects or tummy upset from the transdermal "ear goo", as we call it. If you do decide to try the transdermal stuff, I found that Drs Foster and Smith have the best price on it.

I'm going to give the pills a chance - giving the small dose before getting up to the 2.5mg BID seems to have worked,
no signs of tummy upset or appetite loss this time (assuming it WAS the tapazole the 1st time, and not just Simon being a cat).
I'll definitely look into the transdermal if he starts having side effects though.
