Looking good. I'm curious. The Friskies turkey and gravy. Is that a pate? Do you spread her am cycle food out in the morning? It other words - how do you feed your am and pm cycle food? Also, the Tiki Cat chicken and duck - how many carbs are in that? I thought about buying the Tiki Cat because the "Cat Food - Nutritional Composition" chart says the Tiki has no carbs but I checked with Chewy and they said none of the Tiki food they sell have 0 carbs so I don't know what to think.

Yes, the Friskies turkey and giblets is pate (5%).

My cats were always used to free feeding when they were on dry food, so I put their meals down at shot time and leave it down until 10+. I add extra water to make sure it stays moist, and they can help themselves when they get hungry. I know I'm feeding too much if there's a lot leftover at +10. Usually there isn't too much.

The Tiki Cat is < 2% carbs. I got the variety pack, but looked up each flavor on Chewy. I write the carb content on each can when I put it away.

They didn't care for it much. It's straight up shredded meat, and they didn't like the texture.

I also write the carb content on anything that is not the Fancy Feast Pate. I have little stacks of medium carb and high carb cans in my pantry so I know which is which and can pull out what I need in a pinch. Thanks for the tip on the Tiki Cat. Unfortunately, you can't buy individual cans from Chewy and I didn't want to buy a whole box in case Susie didn't like it.

No, all the info is for wet food. Look at the carb% in the Dry Matter Basis calculation.

I'm sorry but I am confused and always have been about the As Fed and Dry Matter. If I go out and buy a can of the Tiki Cat Aloha Friends Chicken and Pumpkin will I be getting the 2.95% carbs or the 13.727% carbs?

Food is my passion (or math :joyful:). In any case, you need to take the As Fed OR the DMB values and plug them into Marje's formula. Ideally, the manufacturer provides the Metabolized Energy value (and then we don't have to do any math) but most don't. If anyone wants help doing math, just let me know what flavors and send me a note!

I don't think I want to take the Marje's formula challenge. I think I will just ask you, Suzanne. Thanks. Math was always my worst subject.
