Good Friday Morning, Eveyone,

Wow, a 72 at AMPS! After 2 cycles on the fat 0.75, I decided to go back to the "regular" 0.75 this morning. I think it was a mistake to return to the fat dose after only 5 cycles on the 0.75. Actually, the situation is a bit more complicated, because I took the dose reduction to 0.75 for 3 cycles (after Rusty had a 36 bg), but then went down to a skinny 0.75 for 2 cycles because we were not going to be home to monitor. Then went back to 0.75 for 5 cycles, with indifferent results and so yesterday added the drop to make it a fat. Clearly all this adding and dropping drops of insulin was not the thing to do. I am ready to be "spoken to"!! Seriously, I would appreciate advice/opinion as the day progresses.

I'll be at and around home all day today and will be able to monitor Rusty.

Sending healing vines to Donovan, Tobey, Tessie Lou, Rocket, and all kitties in need of them,

Everyone have a good day,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 6/3 Rusty AMPS 72(!)

I don't know that I would have taken the fat off this morning. All of your other dose decisions make perfect sense to me. I think a 72 is a perfectly good way to start the day.

Re: 6/3 Rusty AMPS 72(!)

This is a gorgeous start to Rusty's day! Hope he surfs for you.
Have a wonderful Friday

Re: 6/3 Rusty AMPS 72(!), +3 91

Thanks everyone, We'll see what happens after onset begins (somewhere between +4 and +5; Rusty is on Levemir).

Going to take him outdoors now. It's a beautiful (if cold) morning.

Hi guys .. I just have to agree with everyone else, that 72 is gorgeous! Have a great weekend!

Re: 6/3 Rusty AMPS 72(!), +3 91, +5.5 84

Looking good so far! Nice number there for onset. I hope you are still having clear weather today.

Re: 6/3 Rusty AMPS 72(!), +3 91, +5.5 84

I'm in agreement with every one else here, that is an absolutely perfect way to start an amps #... Go enjoy the outdoors Rusty.
Ella thank you for visiting again yesterday. Charlie, Tommy and I appreciate it very much.
I hope the rest of your day goes well. ;-)

Re: 6/3 Rusty AMPS 72(!), +3 91, +5.5 84, +8.5 117

Hi again,
I guess the surf was a bit short-lived. Sienne was right: I should have held the fat dose. If I had done that I would know that he has begun a bounce. Now I don't really know if he is bouncing from having possibly gone low last night, or if he simply didn't get enough insulin this morning--or maybe a combination of the two! QUESTION: should I put the fat back on? And then there's the question of the influence of the shed. Were 2 fat cycles enough to build a fat shed? Or was Rusty's shed basically unchanged by 2 fat cycles?
Thanks for looking in on us.

Ella & Rusty

No advice but what an AMPS and really nice surf.

Thank you for your caring support to us the last few days. Hope all is well there and you can soon go to Camp Stu.

Hi Ella, very nice to see Rusty in green this morning!

I would put the fat back on. His numbers may be a bit wonky for a few days from the dose hopping, but I wouldn't worry about that. He will settle down. Just treat it like a BCS shot, and go back to the fat 0.75u.

Re: 6/3 Rusty AMPS 72(!), +3 91, +5.5 84, +8.5 117

Well Dahling! Looks to me that the fat added to the shed & thus gave you the 72!--You know Moonie is quite a bouncer & usually bounces right after a nice green!--See what happens tonite--Should be interesting!
Love Ya & Big Hugs from us--Sorry for being absent yesterday--

RUSTY--Cant wait to come to Camp Stu--Miis you a lot, the party was great, happy to see everyone--I'm more back to myself now--My bean is a little better too--Lubs you from Moonie!

Re: 6/3 Rusty AMPS 72(!), +3 91, +5.5 84, +8.5 117, PMPS 112

Thanks, Laurie, I put the fat back on. Nice that Rusty didn't go up after the +8.5. Tomorrow I'll be out all day, but DH will be here to watch and observe (but because he is legally blind, not to test).

Back later. Have to make dinner. Thanks to everyone who visited us today and helped me in my confusion!!

Hi guys - sorry it took me so long to get to your condo today... dgs sitting is so time consuming - but fun. What a wonderful amps this morning, and through the morning cycle... i understand your hesitation this morning, but I think the fat back on is the say to go, IMHO, as I am certainly no dose expert.

Enjoy your outing tomorrow. I hope to hike, paws crossed that Mannie gives me a hiking number, as it is an all day one... same thing here too:DH can't test, observe only.... at least Mannie is good about hollering for food when he is low.... I hope you have something fun on the agenda.

Hooray for sunny days - I hope it was a good one there.

have a great night guys!

Rusty!! KTSS!!!!, and then BEACH PARTY! You in?? ~~ Mannie

Hi Ella,
I saw your question about how my DD held Tinkles....she put him on her lap, facing the same way she was, and I think she wrapped one arm around his chest to hold him against her and used the other hand to hold his paw for me (we only did the front paws this time, I think we'll tackle the back ones in a day or two). I'll have to have her show me tomorrow....I wasn't really watching too closely! I know that he wasn't happy, but he couldn't do anything about it...and he didn't totally freak out. Have a good night!
