[Rocket & his Mom]

hi all,
continued prayers for Donovan, Tessie Lou, Tray, Tobey and all kitties who are having challenges....especial prayers go out to those beans who have lost their kitties....prayers for everyone here at LL...

Rocket has been for the most part unusual...by that i mean....his routine is slightly off...he wakes me up at 5 am...but that is only because i've made it my mission to get up and put food at for him at 4:20 am...he insists in getting his fluids then so i may need to adjust his shot time since when he gets fluids he also gets chic dust...

the off part comes when he gets his phenobarbital at 6 pm...normally by 8 pm when he gets the pred he would go quietly to the living room and sleep all meds off...but for over a week now...he stays around...goes on the coffee table then on the couch....he just wants to be around...i dont' mind it but he seems a bit restless...he seems to settle come 10:30 pm then he is off to his little corner to sleep....so needless to say...i sit with him...brush him...give him my undivided attention....maybe that's what he wants...but i know he gets tired/sleepy from the meds...but strange he is unable to sleep them off....

this is the rose bush i got in honour of all the kitties who have crossed the bridge...i placed it next to Rocket's bed on the balcony where he loves to sit

Hmm not sure about the restlessness, perhaps Rocket's just craving some extra attention. Hope that's all it is and nothing is up.

What a gorgeous rose bush, and a gorgeous kitty!

The pictures are just gorgeous....thanks for sharing them. Maybe Rocket just wants the extra attention in the evening....so hard to figure it out.....You are doing so well with him. cat_pet_icon

The rose bush is beautiful, Claudia. What a lovely tribute.

I wonder if Rocket is changing his evening routine because of the longer daylight hours?

never thought of that Linda...could be....will keep a closer eye on him too...

thank you Marj for the well wishes...sadly my interview has been re-scheduled for Monday in the afternoon....the guy interviewing me had some sort of emergency...and i was lucky to get the call as i was heading out the door...i was upset as i was all dressed up....but the more i think of it...i was not at all prepared for it....so gives me the weekend to do so...

so here is a question....OT.....i don't have a green thumb....so...do i cut the roses so others can come out or do i let them be?

Rocket ate his afternoon snack and ate well for ps time....hopefully he won't be as restless tonight....fingers crossed...

Most flowers need to be trimmed--I Thank you for the beautiful Rose bush--you are such a beautiful person...
I think they change their routines every now & then--It's part of being a cat!!
Hope all is well & you get that job you are looking for.

I think he's just changing his rountine because of the summer/springtime hours.

That rose bush is a very lovely tribute. I cut the roses off once they look wilted, I think down to a set of 3 leaves? or something like that. Roses are very hardy. I thought mine died last fall, and I just saw it two days ago, popping up through all that mulch they throw down around my condo complex. I'm amazed how they make it through the winter here.

Claudia, you are so thoughtful to put the rose bush on your balcony in honor of all the LL kitties we have lost. What a special tribute. We have a bunch of rose bushes in my backyard but I don't do anything to them except trim them back every once in awhile. I have no green thumb so I am always surprised that they grow back every year.

Rocket looks so peaceful sitting on the balcony. I hope things are ok and Rocket settles down for you in the next couple of days, although as others have said, it is probably just the change in seasons, weather, etc.

Sorry you had to reschedule your interview but if it gives you more time to prepare, then it was meant to be.
