Hi, I know the usual advice is not to give any insulin after a fur shot because you don't know how much went in. In this case, the needle came out the other side of the skin tent :( so I'm guessing very little if any went in. Also, I am able to be here & test today. She is on 1.5U. Do you think it would be safe to give her .5 units just to try to keep her from soaring into black? Any and all advice appreciated, thanks.

I didn’t comment earlier because I’m not really sure what advice to offer, I think if it was me I would wait until tonight for the next shot (looks like you thought the same)

Just in case

One positive: Phoebes ears could get a little break :)

Sorry no one was around to answer right away, but it's not worth the risk. Even if you believe nothing went in, something still could have. We have a saying that it's better too high for a day than too low for a minute. It's frustrating but she'll get back on track. I once did three fur shots in a row.

Oh my gosh -- three in a row! I'm so sorry that happened, but it actually makes me feel better. I've been so mad at myself for messing it up this morning. And thanks for the saying too. Makes good sense. I'll just have to wait it out. Really appreciate your help.

You must not have received the patience pants I sent you!

I struggle all the time with not rushing the process in an effort not to lose any ground... for me it's usually in the form of dose reductions... I'm always wanting to keep Mowgli at a dose that is giving him greens and technically qualifies him for a reduction... but then Mowgli usually shows me that he means business, as he did last night with a 67... reduction it is... I've put on my patience pants a little late haha.

I am constantly reminding myself that this is a marathon not a sprint. ;)

You are right! I think the patience pants you sent got lost in the mail! I could have used them today.
Sorry about last night. I hope Mowgli does well with his new reduction.
