325 to 349 - .6u
300 to 324 - .5u
250 to 299 - .4u
225 to 249 - .3u

Thanks, y'all, for the encouragement. It is good to see some nicer numbers after the pinks from the increase we tried. Now, if I'd just LEARN HOW TO GIVE A SHOT!!!!

It's ok Libby. Look at it like this.....you have 2 more chances today.

Did you see the chart on shootable areas in a thread here in PZI? It was posted yesterday. I would copy & paste the link, but I need to take care of baxter.....then leave for work( :roll: )

Jenn - We've tried different locations, but this one seemed to give him the best, most consistent numbers. I just don't understand why, all of a sudden, my technique leaves a lot to be desired. Same location, thought I was doing it the same way, but obviously not. I know this morning I was in a hurry, should've answered the phone and THEN shot, instead of rushing to shoot so I could answer the phone...I'm going to really pay attention to how I'm doing it to try to figure it out... :YMSIGH: I'll look for the thread you mentioned, too, and see what I can glean from that.

Yes, Lori - that's one of the best things about TID, that I don't have to wait as long to fix one of my mess-ups. :smile:

I am realizing on this new insulin tht I give more fur shots than I realize!!

Thanks, Denise. I've been having Doug do all the shots since he's had a couple of days off, but he's back to work tomorrow and poor Hershey will be back to depending on me for his shots. :sad:

Good to hear from you. Sat down last night planning to go over and check on you and Lu, but (as is the norm) something else called my attention...planning to get by there today :-D

Thanks for checking on us. I skipped the +6.

Jessica and I think the +4.5 may have been stress-inflated. I discovered Hershey was gone when I went to test at +4. I clicked on the lamp, pushed in the strip (both noises he comes to), then went looking, calling, making a noise he comes to...getting frantic...Doug and Jessica joined the search...I went out to the road, FEARING the worst...on the ground, searching under the cars...at this point, the tears started and my mind was racing...Jessica kept coming to give me the same update, no sign of him...I head around to join the search behind the house (We live on 1/5-acre, running out of places to look!)...shaking treat bag and tapping on his food bowl, plus calling and making 'the noise' (all sounds he comes to)...WHEN Jessica came to say Doug had retrieved him from under the deck just before I came around back...Apparently, while Doug was in and out grilling, Hershey slipped out past him...sure seemed longer than :30 to me! I can't remember the last time I was so scared!!

But, now is the beginning of a new cycle -

WOW! What a scare. I hate those seconds passing by looking for a lost one. I've have had many times of that and always fear the worst. I've been found hitting a can in the middle of the night for an escapee. So glad you found him!! Looks like the "Great escape" helped him. His amps is fantastic!!! YEAH!!!

Oh, Lori - I had almost forgotten the image of you out in the middle of the night beating a can! He's slipped out before, but we've usually caught him right off (like a few steps onto the deck); it's never taken :30, which made it really scary to me.

Flat cycle, but at least it's a flat yellow -

I know that scary feeling. Elsie was missing in my 4 room apartment after I first moved here. Now HOW MANY places could she possibly be? Turns out there was a nice spot under/behind the water heater in a closet. GEEZ!!! Do you know we tore the place up looking for her. And she was napping quietly when we found her. Not a care in the world!!! :lol:

His "disappearance" doesn't seem to have affected Hershey either! Great PS!

Yeah, Lu, our house is less than 1200 sq ft and we've managed to lose each kitty at some point. But, last night I knew all of the bedroom doors were closed, which only left 3 rooms and a bathroom - checked multiple times quickly. My gut told me he wasn't in this house when he didn't come for any of the usual noises. Oreo sleeps so soundly that sometimes we have to shake him to wake him (That has been scary on more than one occasion!) so he could easily sleep through the noises, but not Hershey. I felt like the poor woman in the Bible who found her lost coin and ran to tell her neighbors!

Doug has been giving all of the shots since my last fur shot 6/4 MDPS. He wasn't able to give this one, so I had to. Took my time, shot at a different angle thinking maybe that was my problem...and FUR SHOT!!!!!!!!! :cry:

Oh, Denise - I'm so sorry you're going through this, too. It's soooo frustrating! HOW did I do it right for a few months and now can't get it right to save my life?!

I'm sorry you've been having so many fur shots lately. I too have gone through the phase of every other shot was straight fur and I just couldn't understand it. I couldn't do anything but just double check each time until I got into the groove again (and I have no idea how I got out of the groove in the first place :? ).

I am confident that you'll get it back.

You're not alone.... clearly - we've ALL been there/done that!

It's just ONE number. Don't forget that, and don't beat yourself up. Remember all those other things that can influence the BG... and we only have control over the insulin we shoot, and the food we give them. Lots of other variables that are not under our control. We can only just roll with and play the hand we're dealt.

You're doing amazing w/ Hershey - and don't EVER forget it!!!
 
Thanks, Lu. I kept telling myself it was just one shot, just one cycle...but 7 fur shots in 4 days started wearing on me...I was tickled that I actually got it right for today's AM shot!! :-D

I hope all is well with you and Grayson. Came over to check on y'all and Denise and Shakes, but seems quieter over there and didn't see a new thread.
