Good Morning LL ~O) (It is really strange not to post a condo everyday, and I don't want to take space up on the forum, but couldn't resist...)

Well, ever since Gobby had his OTJ Party he's turned into a real brat~I'm thinking since he has starred on the big screen he's gotten a bit of attitude; struts around here thinking he's John Wayne and is trying to imitate Wayne's voice, which is downright annoying.

His numbers are great; yesterday morning I tested him and he was 49 :-D I was just waking up and when I seen the number, I got worried and caught myself going to his food cupboard and looking for MC  Then it dawned on me that that is a good number and, um, he was OTJ. Besides, no MC or HC in his cupboard now--!!!

His appetite has really increased; he joined the CPC last week and loves hanging out, playing cards, with all the kitties there. I weighed him the other day and he's up to 13.6; if he gains any more weight, I'm going to put him on a diet before he gets a muffin top.

As some of you know, a month ago I started taking him outside for fresh air and exercise. I kind of created a little monster. I think he only loves the harness because he figures that's the only way he'll get to go out. Saturday night, he started whining to go out. I gave him a snack at about 11:30 figuring it would shut him up, then I went btb. Five minutes later he comes in the bedroom and starts whining, in my face. That didn't work, so I mock tested; which held him off for a while. Come morning, he's by the bed again trying his hardest to emulate Wayne. So I got up, tested and fed him. I was pretty tired from lack of sleep and went to take a nap yesterday afternoon. Well, there he starts again....he tried to jump in the bedroom window and basically bounced off of it as it was closed  Just as I was drifting off to a nice nap--the whining starts. So I locked him out of the bedroom...more whining. I had to lock him in the basement for "time out"....

I finally took him out for his walk yesterday evening....more whining by the door after we came in. DH said to lock him in the garage and shut the light off. We have a rather clean garage, but I checked the garage for any thing that can harm him; it is safe. So needless to say, Gobby was marched to the garage; I told him when he was ready to simmer down, he could come in the house....living up to his name, he decided to come in about a 1/2 hour later for his feeding....

Re: 6/3/13 Gobbles = needs a proper arse whoopin'

Oh my Kat,  love the report on Gobbles! I think you have created a little monster with Gobble wanting to go outside. And he has gained a new voice, too. Sounds to me like he is really enjoying his freedom now that he's OTJ! Have a great day.

Hi Kat. Glad Gobbles is doing great OTJ. It sounds like he has managed to acquire his very own "cat jail" for time outs. That "John Wayne" Wollowing is annoying  .

Have a great week.

Oh my gosh, Kat!! I almost can hear him, with the annoying voice....Checkers uses a voice that irritates the living daylights outa me, when he wants the tub water turned on. It's harsh and LOUD!!
I'm so grown-up about it .....I have been known to scream back at him.

When he wants lovin though, his voice is so sweet, I could cry.

John Wayne? Bahahahahahaha! Checks and Clancy are both monsters to go out, but nowhere near as bad as Gobbles!!
At least, they forget about it, if they don't see the harness.

I thought you were going to say he brought the harness and leash to you....like a dog does.

You poor thing. Maybe hire a cat walker. Heehee!

Gobbles seems a little constipated (well, I THINK it's him--could be one of 3 cats--though his usual poop spot in the litterbox is not being dumped in), so dumb questions:

1. Is mirilax someting I can buy at the drugstore?
2. Would it hurt to give it to all 3 cats?
3. Dosage?

1. yes Drugstore, Walmart, etc. Generic is less expensive. Used to be prescription only but is now OTC.
2. no . Two of my cats get this daily for their constipation issues.
3. 1/8 t (teaspoon), BID, increase until stools are soft and then back the dose down. This is what my vet told me for Wink.

thanks Deb; could I just put 3/8 of a t. in one whole can of food AM, then divide it 3 ways between my 3 kitties? then repeat PM with another can of food?

Gobbles. Don't mess with the bean's head. Next thing you know, she'll be setting up the poo-cam again. Bob.

I also give Mego 1/8 tsp BID - morning & evening meals. At the beginning I started at 1/8 tsp, then had to go up to 1/4 tsp until things started moving and then decreased back down to 1/8 tsp. Pooping is no problem these days and Mego has stopped bolting from the LB after he goes!

I bought the BIG bottle of Miralax at Walmart and got a $3 off coupon from the Miralax website - just print and buy. And bonus... it's good for humans too!

And Mego is ready to party at the Falls anytime! :-D So happy for you and Gobbles. It takes a while to transition out of the routine and it sounds like you had a taste of that today. I found myself going through FD withdrawal and Mego went through treat withdrawal too! But now he gets them every once and a while but he still comes running when I say treat and he still lets me test him without any problems.

Sure, that could work if you mixed it really, really well. 1/8t isn't very much so I'm not sure you could get equal amounts into each kitty. Wouldn't want one kitty to get too much and get the runs.

Since I add water to my canned food, I spoon out the food into each dish , add water and mix until I get the right consistency, then measure out 1/8t into each of the cats dish, and gently stir.

My civie Monet is the only one not getting this on a regular basis. He steals the other cats foods all the time, so sometimes he gets a little bit of a loose stool. Not enough to be a problem though.

LOL you certainly created a monster! It's cool that Gobby goes for the fake testing too. It still has a calming effect on Leo when he gets uptight about the new cat situation and he feels left out. It's amazing what we train them to do, and then what they train US to do. Time out in the garage - I can just hear the whining, Mr. Wayne. Poor guy, just wants to go outside!
