Ugh - I really want to shoot but I only have 8 strips until my shipment arrive "by end of day tomorrow" - right now I am stalling for 20 min anyway to see what happens. I am so frustrated with myself - this was the week we were both back to a rountine, new insulin shipment arrived, etc. He's seen the longest stretches of under 200 as well. I know deep down - I prob can not shoot at 105 with only 8 strips left. Right? :banghead::confused::banghead::confused:

5:40- gonna pass on his shot tonight. I don't have enough strips to feel good about shooting him at this low number. I should be happy with the number - but I'm upset at not having planned better to have supplies on hand.Sorry Jimmy. Stay chillin in the blues tonight :banghead:

If you scroll down to below the images of the vials, there's a link on this page to data that shows that Lantus loses its integrity quickly in a syringe. It was tested in 4 syringes and became turbid in all 4 by day 3, but it happened by day 2 in one of them... and that doesn't tell us anything about the syringes that weren't tested.

I ended up tossing 11+ units one night when I meant to give 1 unit of R - and I was repeating "1 unit R, 1 unit R" in my head even as I was drawing up 11+ units of Lantus! Having to throw it out is painful at higher doses when a vial or cartridge doesn't last very long to begin with, but I know the lubricant inside the syringe can interact with the insulin and didn't want to take the risk of a much less effective dose the next morning.
