Good Morning LL ~O) Well today is Hoots 1st vacation :lol: We are going to the Tampa Bay Rays baseball game. It's about an hour away so we got a room to stay overnight. Hoot is going with us because I have no one to take care of him. He hates to ride in the car so I'm sure his BG will be quite high when we get there :sad: Sorry Hoot :sad: But I think once we get there he will settle in ;-) Hopefully :lol: Looking forward to just getting away, even if it is just for a night :-D :-D :-D We will be leaving just after +2 so I will be able to know what his BG will be before trip and after trip :lol: nailbite_smile Wish us luck and have a great day LL :YMPEACE:
 
Gabby hates the car, too. (She pukes in the carrier. I've learned to line the carrier with puppy pee pads for a quick clean up.) What I've found helps is if I am a passenger and can open the top of the carrier and keep an arm around her. It seems to allow her to feel more secure.

Have a safe and uneventful trip! (And remember to not let housekeeping come in when Hoot is alone in the room.)

Keep the do not disturb sign on the door. If you need extra towels or anything, just call and meet them at the door.

Do you have treats for the car ride. My Buster will cry the whole ride, but if I put my hand in the carrier and scritch her, that seems to calm her down and help. Of course driving one handed, not necessarily the smartest thing to do..... :?

Have a fun get-away. Tess hates the car too. I usually sit in the back seat w/ her. They make Thunder Shirts for cats now. I haven't tried it yet though.
 
Enjoy your night away! :-D :-D You too Hoot. I've sprayed the inside of Neko's carrier with Feliway spray and given her a couple drops of Rescue Remedy before travel. The road trip for SRT was three days of 8-9 hours driving each way. Pee pads are essential! So are spare towels and bags for storing soiled towels. :oops:
 
So we made it here thru the torrential Florida rain storm, which totally FREAKED Hoot out, and he cried all the way here. I had him on my lap and pet him thru the carrier which helped calm him...(thanks for the hint) He has finalliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiuooooooooooooooo9 :lol: :lol: that was Hoot walking across the computer, he added his 2 cents :lol: :lol: he has finally settled in and is doing good. We are all pampering him to death cat_pet_icon He is loving it flip_cat i'm debating even getting a reading, but know I should, but also know I won't be giving him a shot, so I really don't want to stress him out anymore nailbite_smile We'll see...Thanks for all the great advice and sharing in Hoots 1st Adventure :lol:
