Putting treats on it is a great idea. We have the Pet Safe 5 compartment programable feeder. BK took to it with no problem. Once he figured it out he started perching himself on the adjacent counter as a feeding time approached - he just stares at it waiting to dive down the minute the compartments advance! We feed him 1/2 can FF (without the feeder) at his (former) shot times and use the feeder for 1/4 can mini meals at +4 and +8, and place a freeze dried chicken treat for +10. We started with the +10 treat when I realized that I really didn't have any idea if he ate his +8 meal at +8 or at +11. I didn't want my PS to be a food influenced number and it would be cruel to set up the feeder to advance at +10 and be empty. Although he is very smart about the times, my office paper shredder sounds alot like the feeder advancing, so sometimes he comes running when I shred something! :lol:
