AMPS 385
I think this is probably a bounce because she dropped a long way yesterday morning and I have no idea how fast the drop was.

Last night Sheba seemed much better. She ate well and she was asking for food.
This morning she is not interested in the food again. I had swapped her back to her normal diet this morning as I tried her with that last night and she ate it well. But she is not interested this morning. Ate one mouthful then walked away and sat with her back to me.
I have now mixed some of her favourite Fowl Ball in with her normal food and she is starting to eat it slowly. We will see how she goes with that. This is so unlike her.
Thank you everyone who has been such a wonderful support in the last few days. It makes a big difference.

Sending appy and healing vines to all kitties in need.

C'mon Sheba, eat your fuds. Mama is trying so hard to give you something yummy, be nice for her!

Appy vines sent your way!

Well, it took 2 1/2 hours but Sheba has just finished all her AMPS breakfast. Yah! I had to hold the bowl sometimes and take it to her sometimes but she eventually ate it all.
We will have a bit of a break and then start on the next meal which is due now. I haven't even showered and dressed yet and the morning has half gone! But at least I have had my :coffee: made by DH...the best coffee in Sydney by a long shot!

Thanks Lori, Marilyn,Carla and Wendy for your support and appy/fuds vines....they seem to be working.:bighug:

I noticed the Matildas have been beaten in the World Cup soccer in Vancouver this morning:(

Good girl for eating up all your breakfast Sheba - eventually!

It really chews up your day when they need encouragement doesn't it. I hope she keeps munching away for you and finishes in time for the next meal. Piling on more appy vines.

ETA aren't you a day ahead of yourself?

(((Bron))) I am so happy to read Sheba ate!!! Continuing appy vines for Sheba and hugs for you!! I notice that last night Sheba had a nice green surf, I wonder if the meds helped her, and possibly today, the cerenia has worn off? My vet gave Tiger an injection of cerenia yesterday and said it would be good for 3 days. I hear if you buy injectible cerenia online like at Thriving Pets, the shot is 24 hours only. Even my tablets are only good for 24 hours.

Also, I was reading that Sheba seems to have a reaction to Bupe that is similar to Tiger- she looks like she is in a stupor so I had the vet only give 1/2 the normal dose of bupe yesterday and it still knocked her for a loop! But it helps with that tummy pain that is so common with pancreatitis so I have to continue it.

It's possible to develop food aversions with this dreaded disease, so if she seems reluctant to eat something, you might want to try another food. Tiger threw up when I offered the low carb Wellness chicken and turkey cans, she threw up on Purina DM that she was used to eating, I had to try a lot of different things but finally she settled with Wellness Core Chicken Turkey and Liver, it was a big relief! Plus the Wellness is higher in calories so in theory good for a cat that can't eat enough. (though now she has the opposite problem, I need to cut her back :nailbiting:)

It may get exhausting when you have to follow her around trying to get her to eat- and also if you are having to give a lot of meds. You need your rest too, don't forget! With any kind of luck she will have re-gained her appy by the time you read this, I hope so but you will be in our prayers!

p.s. Tiger came to me as a tiny feisty kitten, she terrorized my two older kitties- we just assumed she was a boy, hence the name Tiger. Well, at her first vet visit, low and behold, Miss Tiger, the tigress , oops!

The Matilda's were beaten in Edmonton, Canucks were beaten in Vancouver. :(

Keep on munching Sheba.

I'm so glad Sheba ate her breakfast for you, even if it took a while. Minka is the same way. She'll eat something fine one time, then the next want nothing to do with it. Sometimes she cleans her plate in one shot and other she eats some now and some later. I hate P-titis!!!!!

I know exactly what you mean about the day going by while you follow her around, trying to get her to eat. Seems like I never get dressed before noon anymore!

Sending tons more healing and appy vines, and some more :bighug:, too.

Healing prayers continue for Sheba and hopefully she will be cleaning the plate fast very soon. She may need more cerenia today as yesterday's injection has probably worn off. Hugs to you too. :bighug:

I was given injectable cerenia for Tiffany by a vet but was told it would last 24 hours. I've never heard of it lasting 3 days. I think a lot of people mistake nausea for pickiness about food with cats. If a cat refuses to eat food tge generally like I think it's usually either nausea or pain.

Thanks Ruth.
Yes I think the meds helped with Sheba's surf last night. She is high again today. I have just given her a dose of bupe...first of the day and I will see if it makes a difference to her BSLs. She is having less than half the recommended dose and it still affects her. I think the cerenia has worn off. It was only for a day.
She ate her second meal really well with no added assistance. It was different food and I think she has a dislike for kangaroo at the moment. She usually loves it.
Thanks for all the tips. I hope Miss Tiger continues to improve for you.:bighug:

I don't know how you do it every day.....I have done nothing today... And it is well after lunch. Still Sheba is fed so that is the main thing. I know what you mean about eating it all one minute then not eating. That is something I rarely see with Sheba.

Wendy.....bad luck our teams lost.:(
Voula........thanks for prayers and hugs. I will see how Sheba goes today with food. Hopefully she won't need any more cerenia. The vet is closed now for today. Only opens for 3 hours Sunday am. There is the emergency vet of course but hopefully we won't need that.
Elise.....normally Sheba will eat any food. It is not usually an issue with her at all unless she is sick. It's a real red flag with her.

I am minding my daughters two labradoodles for a week while they are at the snow...the kids are representing their school in skiing. I am not sure how I will last the week to tell you the truth. The boy is very good but the girl is whining all the time and then when I let her outside she races everywhere all over my garden. They are usually well behaved dogs at home. I can't let them up into the top garden because the chickens are there and Zalia chases them.
I think I might have to resort to drinking some adult beverages to cope!
Sheba takes no notice of them at all except to look at me as if to say....what were you thinking when you said you would mind them!

sounds like those droolers have some pent up energy....

adding more appy vines.....
The whining is just for attention I am sure. My daughter has a person to come and walk them for an hour each day while she is away. She normally does it but two of them together is too strong for me to walk. Yes they have so much energy it isn't funny! Wish I had some of their energy!

Morning Bron, glad to hear that I'm not the only one who idles away most of the morning in their pj's.
Hopefully Sheba is now nearly back to eating normally, such a worry for you. Sending heaps of good appy vines your way :bighug:
The two labs sound a little over boisterous to say the least, poor you, hope they calm down soon or they will run you ragged.
Just off to have my first :coffee: but no doubt it won't be as good as yours, made with tlc by your DH.

Suki, I hope you enjoyed your coffee. @suki & crystal
Crystal please give IAA a great big nudge. You will please your mama no end!

Sheba is enjoying sitting at the doorway of the kitchen which looks across into the laundry where the dogs are. I have a kids gate up so they can't run through the house. As soon as they see Sheba they start barking madly.......they think she is a possum.....they have never seen another cat. Sheba doesn't react to them at all except to hiss at them as she goes past to the toilet......then hiss again on the way back....
@Vyktors Mum thanks for telling me about the date......wishing my life away!:joyful:
